Storyline

In New York City, there is a mass breakout of supervillains from various S.H.I.E.L.D prisons by a mysterious mastermind. Against this threat that no single hero could have withstood, Iron Man, Giant Man, the Wasp, Thor and the Hulk work together to defeat the menace. Inspired by this victory, Iron Man convinces the others to form a permanent team, The Avengers, for the cause of justice. Together, these superheroes face new challenges, members, friends and foes as they assemble for them as one. Written by Kenneth Chisholm (kchishol@rogers.com)

Trivia

The producers loosely considered the live action films Iron Man (2008) and The Incredible Hulk (2008) to be Iron Man and Hulk's background for the series. For the Hulk there was the stipulation that the final scene in that movie is what gets the Hulk/Banner relationship to where it is and a more intelligent incarnation of the Hulk. Also, the Abomination has a British accent as he did in the film. See more »

Excellent!!!
20 January 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This is the closest thing Marvel has ever done to the comics in any TV show or movie. The character development of each character and story lines are top notch. This interpretation of the Avengers is the one that should have been introduced in the big screen. There are some minor changes, but they work perfectly for the story. I strongly recommend this show to any Marvel fan, from a eager beginner to a veteran.

It's a shame the show got canceled by the second season. So many unfinished stories were pending...

What happened to the Guardians Of The Galaxy, Beta Ray Bill, Wonder Man, and the Ragnarok storyline?
