Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Evolves Earlier than Expected in 2014

11 December 2013 | Horror Asylum | See recent Horror Asylum news »

Even though Twentieth Century Fox's sci-fi sequel 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' is still 7 months away at least today it edges that little bit closer. The studio have set a 11 July 2014 release date, bringing the opening back by a full week. Not entirely sure why the move but it may have something to do with the recent production halt on James Wan's 'Fast and Furious 7', due to the sad and untimely death of star Paul Walker, which was originally slated for release on the 11th also. 'Dawn' will be helmed by Matt Reeves ('Let Me In') and stars Andy Serkis ('The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug'), Jason Clarke ('Zero Dark Thirty'), Gary Oldman ('Bram Stoker's Dracula'), Keri Russell ('Dark Skies'), Toby Kebbell ('Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time'), Kodi Smit-McPhee »

Release Date Change for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

10 December 2013 1:40 PM, PST | DailyDead | See recent DailyDead news »

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was originally scheduled to open in theaters on July 18th, but it’s been announced that we’ll be seeing it one week early. Fast & Furious 7 was previously the only movie set to open on July 11th, but Fox has moved Dawn of the Planet of the Apes into that weekend as well. This is likely due to the fact that it’s expected Universal will delay Fast & Furious 7.

New The Boxtrolls Bts Trailer

2 December 2013 10:57 AM, PST | AreYouScreening.com | See recent AreYouScreening news »

The next classic of animation is on the way, at least, I have my suspicions that The Boxtrolls is going to win people over, and become a favorite. From the makers of Coraline and ParaNorman, The Boxtrolls is a stop-motion and CG hybrid about the town of Cheesebridge and the curious “trolls” that live underneath it. Wearing boxes, and with a certain affinity for cheese, the trolls are something of a town legend, but the strange assortment of monsters have raised a human boy since infancy, and worlds are about to collide.

This is one to get on your radar.

Check out the new Bts trailer above, as well as a teaser trailer and more info below, and let me know what you think about it. If nothing else, this one is going to be worth it for the voice cast.

Laika Studios Introduces New Trailer for The Boxtrolls

27 November 2013 1:00 AM, PST | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Those looking forward to the return of Laika Studios next year are in for a real treat, because not only has a new trailer debuted for The Boxtrolls, it’s introduced by none other than the filmmakers themselves.

The trailer, released by Focus via Apple, starts off by showing some behind-the-scenes footage of the painstaking work that goes into creating something at Laika, the team behind Coraline and ParaNorman.

The new 3D animated feature from Laika Studios tells the tale of the Boxtrolls, monsters who live underneath the charming streets of Cheesebridge, who crawl out of the sewers at night to steal what the townspeople hold most dear: their children and their cheeses. At least, that’s the legend the townspeople have always believed. In truth, the Boxtrolls are a community of lovable oddballs who are raising as one of their own an abandoned and orphaned human boy named Eggs. »

New Trailer for The Boxtrolls Goes Behind-the-Scenes of Laika Studios

26 November 2013 9:52 AM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Focus Features has released a new trailer for the upcoming stop-motion animated film The Boxtrolls.  The story tells the tale of the titular trolls who live underneath the streets of Cheesebridge.  Legend has it that the Boxtrolls steal the townspeople’s children and cheese, but the truth of the matter is that the monsters are raising an orphaned human boy named Eggs as one of their own.  This trailer actually begins by showing how the folks at Laika Studios (the makers of Coraline and ParaNorman) craft their gorgeous films before giving a look at the characters in motion.  Unsurprisingly the whole thing looks great, and I’m remain enthused about the forward-thinking teaser trailer that was released earlier this year. Hit the jump to watch the new trailer.  Directed by Anthony Stacchi (Open Season) and Graham Annable, the film features the voices of Ben Kingsley, Isaac Hempstead-Wright, Elle Fanning, Toni Collette, »

Hugh Jackman To Host TNT’s Christmas In Washington December 20th

21 November 2013 1:08 PM, PST | AreYouScreening.com | See recent AreYouScreening news »

Where aren’t you Hugh? TNT has announced that its annual Christmas in Washington special will be hosted by Hugh Jackman. The holiday concert special will air on December 20th at 8:00 p.m. (Et/Pt), and will feature some very special performers, including: Anna Kendrick, Sheryl Crow, Backstreet Boys, and more.

This has long been one of my favorite holiday traditions, and has offered up some of the most entertaining performers, and all-around enjoyable evenings for years.

That tradition continues (well, quite frankly, I’m not a fan of Backstreet Boys) this year with not only some great performances, but you can’t go wrong with Hugh Jackman running your show, whatever it is. Right? I can’t wait for Sheryl Crow, Anna Kendrick is a surprisingly awesome singer, and you don’t want to miss Pat Monahan.

Catch all the info below, and let me know if you’ll be tuning in. »

Seann William Scott and Jackie Chan team up for Skiptrace

About 10 years ago, Seann William Scott was quite popular as a comedy/action hybrid star. He graduated from American Pie, starred in a few action films such as Welcome to the Jungle, Bulletproof Monk, and the occasional other comedy like Evolution. Since he's been away from the screen other than the somewhat overrated American Pie sequels. His hiatus is now set to change as The Hollywood Reporter is claiming Seann William Scott is set to team up with action legend Jackie Chan ( for a film known simply as Skiptrace. In the director's chair is relatively new talent Sam Fell (Paranorman).

Chan pitched the story himself, which involves a cop (Chan) whose niece (Fan Bingbing) finds herself in danger with the very same gang that Chan had been trying to catch for several years. Somehow a motor-mouth American gambler gets involved (Scott) who for some reason is a crucial part of »
