Storyline

The not so smart Dwayne intends to open a massage parlor with his partner Travis, but he does not have money for the investment. He decides to hire a hit-man to kill his father, The Major, who won a large amount of money in the lottery years ago, but the killer demands US$ 100,000 for the job. Dwayne and Travis kidnap the pizza delivery boy Nick and they dress Nick in a vest with a timer and several bombs. Then Dwayne tells Nick that he has ten hours to rob US$ 100,000 from a bank. Once he does, he would give Nick the code to release the vest. Nick summons his best friend Chet to help him in the heist but the scheme does not work the way Dwayne has plotted. Expected big - got fun-size - which isn't much fun.
21 April 2012 | by See all my reviews

I have loved all the Jesse Eisenberg films I have seen so far, so I naively (and mistakenly) expected to like everything he is in. This is a little unfair on this movie as I had my expectations set quite high.

The plot is sound enough, the script and performance are all more than adequate. But the overall outcome feels very flat.

Everything is bite-sized. The main bank scene is funny but over in a flash. The tension amongst the characters is overplayed, the romance story feels like a mere crush. The huge voids in the film are clumsily filled in with fingering references, prostitute jokes and Danny Mcbride acting childish.

I don't get Danny Mcbride at all! But if you are a fan of his work then add a couple of stars to this review as for me he was the largest thorn in the side of this movie.

I found the movie humorous, had a few chuckles but felt a bit cheated.
