Storyline
While Stefan struggles to control his new situation of blood lust after feeding off Elena's blood to heal, she and Jeremy are surprised by a visit from their uncle, John Gilbert, who arrives in Mystic Falls with an agenda. Meanwhile, Alaric has an awkward talk with Elena about his wife Isobel. At a Founder's Day event, Stefan displays a rare party attitude and Damon's attempt to find out why Uncle John has returned to town takes an ugly turn. An incident at the party causes trouble between Matt and Tyler, and the relationship between Matt and his immature and irresponsible mother, Kelly, reaches a new low. Elsewhere, Elena's effort to comfort Jeremy in the wake of Vicki's murder falls short and he decides to take matters into his own hands to track down the vampire who killed her. Written by

*this review contains spoilers, please don't blame me if you spoil yourself. thanks.* I just watched this episode -like 2 minutes ago- and I was totally fascinated. The characters all go through some major trouble, emotionally, as in Jeremy and Matt, physically, as in Stefan, and get into some very serious and twisted problems, as in Elena, Damon and Alaric. Uncle John is a very creepy new character, he made me uncomfortable since he first appeared. When he is talking to Damon about all that he knows, I was seriously squeaking in frighten. Yes, I squeaked. Damon seems so terribly scared too, he is kind of chill about it, but you just can see it. Stefan, for the first time in the whole series, has something actually interesting going on. He was a nice character but he bored me at times, and watching this I was angry for him not being on screen the whole time. Elena and Jeremy's issues are getting out of hand, and I cannot wait to know what Jeremy is up to. Alaric, one of my favorite characters, seems so naive about everything, though he almost always has the answers, it is scary. You might think I am just scared about everything, but truth be told I grew EXTREMELY fond of every single character, and in this episode you don't have any good news. It is all bad news, for everyone, and you just cannot help but be afraid, for them.
Another thing I loved about this episode was the humor. Damon's lines, epic as always. It depicts Stefan as going through so much trouble, yet handling it in a harsh/funny kind of way. You know that feeling when you are smiling at what one is doing, but cringing at the same time? Creepy enough.
The only thing I did not like that much about this was the ending. It was a very much expected ending to the episode, though the rest could have not been foreseen even if I wanted to. One thing I love about this series is how every ending leaves you biting your lower lip, craving for more. In this you want more, yet you do not crave. At least you are not all impatient. I think that is partially a blessing, because if it had been a crave-worthy I would be ripping my hair off of impatience. Yes, I saw it 6 minutes ago. But what can I say? I'm a fan girl. 9 out of 10 stars.
