Great animation, solid story

Warning: Spoilers
"Azureus Rising" is a 5-minute animated short film written and directed by David Weinstein, a man who has mostly worked in the visual effects department of some very famous films. Here he is the man in charge and the outcome is pretty convincing. First of all, I am not the greatest (animated) sci-fi fan, so this was definitely a positive surprise. The main character is one that I would also watch in a full feature movie. The name obviously refers to his colorful hair. Other than that, almost the entire thing consists of fight sequences, but it is okay at such a runtime and they also include a David-Goliath storyline which adds a bit as well. The ending suggests that there may be a sequel, but sadly with this one being already 6 years old, it gets more unlikely by the day. Quite a shame. I enjoyed watching it. Good job in the sound effects department too. Go check it out.

OK Right off the bat, this proof of concept Proved it concept, Kick Ass action sequence's with an off kilter type of style that was all it own. I was looking to see if this was a Full production and I have not found it. I will say this, some of the scenes are a bit cliché, with that said they again are done with a style all its Own..... If you like me have a love for sword based action style movies this POC should get you going!

One thing had me wondering was, the main person did he/she fly towards the end? Because it seemed like he took off in the air to dodge that incoming heat seeker and took of into the air... It could have been a nice jump or it could have been him or her again flying.

Gritty animation with strong sense of pace

I viewed this as a proof of concept - it works. Though the story is sketchy, the visuals are stunning. The movement of the main character is very gritty, breaking away from the usually too-smooth movements of mechanical beings.

There is something very fluid yet imperfect that makes the hero's moves believable despite the complete off-the-chart scale of the action depicted.

I hope that this project can be expanded into a full length feature. The story will make it or break it but the quality of the visuals speak for themselves. Clearly, a lot of effort and care has been channelled into the design of this world. Let's hope it pays off.

Extraordinary piece of work.

I absolutely loved this short animation film. It was filled with action. Even though there was no plot, it kind of gave me a sense of a post apocalyptic era, where cyborgs were the only form of life. It was insane how they implemented the graphics (CGI) into the action.

The scenery in this film is amazing. It gives you this beautiful light blue aura throughout the city. Everything in this short film is gorgeously put together. I hope they develop more of the film in the future. All this short anime film needs is a plot and it would have the ability to be made into much more. The ending left me dying for more.

If you like cyborgs and science fiction of the future, then this short is definitely worth the short period of your time. It is all action, and is FAR from a boring view. Be prepared to be amazed with a blend of ass-whooping and beautiful imagery.
