Storyline

Lizzie and Sarah are two fiftysomething suburban housewives, perpetually mistreated and ignored by unloving, selfish husbands. The highlight of their otherwise dull lives is their role in an amateur dramatic society, The Borking Players. In the aftermath of a tragic accident which causes the death of a popular local teenager, emotions run high, and following a dismal birthday lunch for Sarah, the two friends embark on a spur-of-the-moment shopping trip. As the day unfolds, they find a way to wreak their revenge. Written by Anonymous

I wish we had the BBC in the USA
25 March 2010 | by See all my reviews

Well, we have BBC America i know. But I'm talking about a way of making ground breaking TV without the restrictions of writing for the advertisers. Julia Davis has become the number 1 female writer actress in the history of the UK. An is is up there with Chris Morris and Ricky Gervais.

Lizzie and Sarah looks like it's going to be one of the best comedies of our time. It's certainly the best start to a show I have ever seen. I remember seeing 'The Day Today' and 'The Office' for the first time. I had the same feeling then, that I was about to be engrossed for a long time into some awesome characters.

Julia Davis seems to have gone darker here that she did in Nighty Night. Brilliant!

Well done the BBC!
