Worse than the first theatrical movie, Winx Club 3D: Magical Adventure lacks both magic and adventure. It's horrible.

I did kind of go easy on the first Winx Club theatrical CG movie, I saw some potential, no, hear me out, I thought that they could potentially make a decent Winx Club movie with some cool action scenes, as long as the animation and story improved it could be done, well, the animation in this movie IS indeed better, but the story is far, far worse, believe it or not. The characters are still as thuddingly dull and boring as usual, the girls are actually okay, at least they have unique powers and different costumes and clothes, the guys, the specialists, they are aggravating actually, it seemed like they wouldn't be in the movie for a while, but no such luck, they eventually turn up being their regular terrible selves, with nothing interesting, cool, or just ANYTHING to do, they're just there to be boyfriends, I don't know why, it's not like the Winx themselves are terribly interesting, why throw in these dopes? The only thing more boring than these characters is the movie itself, it starts off okay, with a pointless, utterly pointless action scene where the Trix fight the Winx, why? Well, I guess because they're rivals, but why hang around each other then? They're just there in Alfea, or whatever it's called, and then they randomly start fighting, while the, I guess, principals of each school looks on, the witch says something like "it's just a bit of fun", hey, they're hurling spikes at each other. The movie is not as violent as the first one, none of the characters are stabbed or impaled. I still waited for something violently brutal to happen to that incredibly obnoxious blue rabbit.

There are basically two plots here, the princess stuff, which is the cheapest of cheap Disney knock-off crud, also, at one point the Winx decide to make Bloom look ugly to scare off guys who want to marry her, so they give her glasses and braces, not acting differently, just looking...well,the same only with glasses and braces, I hate how shallow these girls are, I knew Stella was like that, but the other girls are just as bad, they judge people completely on appearance alone, one guy comes in, and he's sort of a geek, with glasses and a teeth retainer, and the girls go "eeeeww" when they see him, come on, another guy is somewhat tubby, and the girls laugh at him as well, really? This scene annoyed me a little, and it's just one of many, or rather ALL attempts at comedy, which fall completely flat. I really did not need to see Bloom's crap, yeah, as in "doo-doo", that was just disgusting and not funny at all. The action scenes are just as bad as they were in the first one, or even worse, at least the first one had some creativity, the giant stone bird. There are sound effects missing, or the music not really fitting what's happening all the time, the music during the transformation sequence stops before the finale, so you just get silence for a few seconds, it's so amateurishly directed.

I did like the Trix though, but they're not in it enough, you kind of forget about them, they're doing their own thing, while the Winx girls to theirs, and then they fight at the end. Just like in the first movie, the red, demon-like witches merge with the flesh and blood villain, or villains in this case, and you get the Super Trix, which is a neat idea, wish they looked cooler, but oh well. Unlike the first movie, which lead to this one, the ending here does not set up for yet another sequel. I really wish they could make a good Winx Club movie, I don't think that's possible in Italy with the limited budget and Iginio Straffi at the helm, maybe one day, the show is doing okay on Nickelodeon, I think, so maybe they could fork up the bucks and make an awesome movie, or not, either way, skip this movie.
