An Honest Review
1 April 2017 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Like the last live action Scooby Doo, this one realized what it was. That is to say it knew that it was a kids live action movie and not a cartoon. It realized that it didn't have to be a cartoon to be Scooby Doo and, again, the film benefited from that.

The only real sore spot was the music. Scooby Doo has music as a big part of every movie and most of the individual episodes in each of the respective shows...but the music was handled differently.

In this case it was handled a little too much like the cartoons to work in a live action rendition that knew it didn't need to try to be a cartoon.

Had they handled it more like American Graffiti, it would have worked better and had more of a place. Instead, it felt slightly removed.

Otherwise, you have another Scooby Doo movie that succeeds where the first two failed. It's almost a shame these more grounded movies weren't released into the theaters or hyped as much as the first two, the world would have a more positive view of live action Scooby movies
