Jacob Stalhammar's The Cats of Mars Meet the Toy Car was a fascinating animated short for me
2 October 2012 | by (Baton Rouge, LA) – See all my reviews

Just discovered on the Vimeo site as linked from Cartoon Brew, this Swedish animated short by Jacob Stalhammar. It depicts four felines on the red planet finding a toy robot from Earth, I think, that does nothing but digs holes and plays with rocks. This robot has interfered with the cats sense of fun such as blocking the inception of their favorite TV show so they send him back to where he came from...I'll stop there and just say how artistically fascinating the design from Stalhammar is and hearing the quaint music from various public domain shorts, not the mention the narration from Jeff Crackower, added to the alluring sensation of viewing it. In fact, I watched it twice in order to make sure I was aware of it's uniqueness. So on that note, I recommend The Cats of Mars Meet the Toy Car.
