I was completely captivated by this well researched and entertainingly compiled documentary about the railway heritage of Brisbane.
The Wooloongabba line is one of the most fascinating railways in Australia and this documentary does it justice.
Many things I had not previously known were revealed including the existence of a railway station next to the dry dock, trolley buses operated in Brisbane and many other amazing facts and figures.
Trams in Brisbane are also seen, and in fact, this doco takes the viewer all the back to the beginning of railways in Brisbane. Other things I discovered were the stages the railways were built in.. for example, from Corinda to Yeerongpilly then to Wooloongabba and Stanley Street. Amazingly, the line to the South Coast started at Yeerongpilly and went south from there. Trivia, but interesting.
Anyone who wants to see a piece of Brisbane history, locked in a time capsule on DVD should get themselves a copy of this!
