The entire film was shot in 8 days with a cash spend of just £10,000 with the remaining budget being made up out of donations of equipment and facilities because of the special nature of the project. In addition, all the professionals involved in this project waved their fees.

Right Said Fred agreed to appear in the film as a cameo after hearing about the project on BBC Radio.

Although the project was in rehearsal for a number of months before shooting, the lead role of Kevin was recast on the first day of shooting and so Fiston Barek had no rehearsal time, joining the project 6 hours into shooting.

The script was re-written every night of the shoot in order to make the most of the unusual way this film was being created.

19 of the unemployed young people working on this film ended the project with professional credits. These credits include four Producers, the Sound Recordists, two Sparks, Art Assistant, the Wardrobe Mistress, Grip, two 3rd ACs, two 2nd ADs and two 1st ADs.

Because of the nature of the project, various leading industry bodies including Panavision and Panalux supplied the shoot with equipment worth over £500,000 for no charge in order to help get the film made.

The young people who gave birth to the film raised the money necessary in order to cover fixed costs like insurance and catering by repeatedly organizing fundraising events that included the handing out of flyers in London's busy West End and the sale of the opening credits on eBay.

The fact that this film exists at all is because a group of young people who met on a variety of courses run by The Prince's Trust decided to work together, ignoring issues including race, religion and even gang based territorial rivalry in order to create something positive for their futures.
