Captain Reuter finds drunk Rena Kahlow in her car at the precinct, claiming her husband wants to kill her, without evidence. Prof. Dr. Nick Kahlow laughs that away as a lush symptom. Two days later, Rena Kahlow is found killed by rat poison and minute glass splinters in her tooth paste. Former petty -crime author Rena Kahlow overheard Nick and his student mistress, referring to her death. He was quite happy simply awaiting a divorce, but their daughter Bea points at him, while she was the beneficiary of a hefty 450 000 Euro life insurance. Yet the story doesn't quite fit, and Lars stumbles upon a literary cue.
