Siskel & Ebert (1997)

Season 11, Episode 20

This episode of Siskel and Ebert was their annual "Memo to the Academy" where they sent a message to Oscar voters on films they shouldn't overlook. I always loved watching these episodes because I knew that both Siskel and Ebert had actually watched the films unlike the people who would eventually be voting. I always found this episodes to be entertaining because of that and of course it was always fun getting to see if any of their selections actually got an Oscar nomination. There were some very good movies released in 1996 and some of them that are singled out here include FARGO, BREAKING THE WAVES, WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE and SLING BLADE. Several of these ended up with nominations but for the most part this was a fun episode with some nice discussions.
