One of the worst Raw's in recent memory, only notable for the above average Orton Vs Swagger Match.
18 April 2010 | by (victoria b.c canada) – See all my reviews

Not a very good episode at all, in fact David Otunga contrary to what other people thought, was absolutely terrible in my opinion. Randy Orton's face turn is developing nicely, and his character is reminiscent of a 97 Austin, not a face or a heel, but the fans just eat him up.

Forgive me for this rather shoddy review.

Jack Swagger comes out and cuts a rather generic and boring promo in my opinion gloating about his Money In The Bank cash in until thankfully John Cena interrupts. Cena tells the truth and says Swagger is sweating, and nobody thinks he's championship material, and he's so sure that he can make Swagger tap out he will put the WWE championship on the line. Randy Orton comes out to a big pop. Randy Orton gets on the Mic and says if Swagger is the competitor thinks he is he would rather face the man who beat him, and that's him. The Miz comes out and claims it's just typical of Cena and Orton to try to steal the spotlight, but in reality MizShow should be in the spotlight instead. David Otunga interrupts to little heat, and has something to say. He says Randy Orton will face Jack Swagger, and Batista and Cena will team up to face The Unified Tag Champions. Randy Orton teases an RKO on John Cena, before hitting one on Swagger instead. Effective but inconsistent segment here. Swagger comes across as a poor man's Jericho, without the charisma, but Orton has the crowd in the palm of his hand, and his character has a lot of Austin's attributes back in 97 when he turned face.

Kofi Kingston Vs Sheamus. Just storyline buildup to further Sheamus's push, and did its job well. Kofi wins with the Razor's edge. Sheamus beats Kofi up with a pipe afterwords

Triple H is shown in the back ready to come out. Sheamus says Shawn had a great career, but it took him 8 years to win his 1st WWE Championship, and it took Sheamus six months|Yeah that's because if your Triple H's boy, you get skyrocketed to the top| Triple H is out and grabs a sledgehammer, chasing Sheamus off. Triple H grabs a Mic and says it's just like a silly Irishman to bring a pipe to a sledgehammer fight. OK then....

Diva's Red Carpet Dressed to Impress Battle Royal: Participants-Kelly Kelly, Alicia Fox, Gail Kim, Rosa Mendes, Jillian Hall, Katie Lea Burchill, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, Eve Torres. Is this honestly worth recapping? Didn't think so.. Eve wins.

David Otunga is in the back bragging about his office and such, before Santino shows up, and Hornswoggle goes after the M&M's. Yawn, how many of these routines are they gonna come up with?.

Unified Tag Team Championship.

John Cena&Batista Vs Miz&Big Show|C|. Pointless, absolutely pointless to have two of these, and way too predictable, everyone knew Batista wouldn't play it by the rules. Tag champs retain. Otunga announcers Miz&Show will have to defend against Cena and himself later tonight.

Ted Dibiase Vs Christian. Christian gets a nice pop. Ted comes out with the..BEHOLD THE MILLION DOLLAR BELT, FTW!. For the time it got I quite enjoyed it actually, though I think Christian is deserving of a push. Ted wins with Dream Street.

Jack Swagger vs Randy Orton. Pretty good little match here, Orton can work with anyone lately, and Swagger's no slouch in the ring himself. Randy Orton is on a roll, and despite people's displeasure of the result, Orton needed it more in my opinion, as I'm not a fan of Swagger's random title win. Orton wins with The RKO.

3 /5

Unified Tag Team Championship

-The Big Show & The Miz|C| vs. David Otunga & John Cena. Better than the 1st one, but that's not really saying anything, and the end was once again predictable. Otunga isn't anything special to me in my opinion, even if he is the fiancé of Jennifer Hudson. Champs retain. Batista says he will get the title back, and announces a Last Man Standing match at Extreme Rules.

1 1/2 /5

Bottom line. Forgettable raw to say the least, and drop dead boring mind you. One to skip, seek out the Orton and Swagger match on the internet though.
