- Koji Sawai: Halo is a wonderfully crafted universe and I wanted to bring our best staff and artists, to add our own flavor to it as well by crafting a beautiful drama and art, as much as time allowed.
- Mitsuhisa Ishikawa: [about Homecoming] Director Sawai, Koji has worked with Mamour Oshii in films with a girl as the lead character, films like Patlabor 2. He's always shown the ability to portray female characters affectionately and beautifully. So that's why I thought this director would be perfect for the Homecoming episode which centers around a female Spartan. 15 minutes is not a lot of time to tell a deep story like this so I wanted someone like this who really understands how to portray female characters and create drama around them.
- Eiko Tanaka: [explaining about The Babysitter] This episode is about an ODST Team and a Spartan joining forces to face tremendous odds in a mission. It's a story of comradery on the battle field. So we needed a director who is gifted in the action genre but who could also bring the human drama into play. Director Kanno is someone I picked to tackle this challenge. I believe he carries a sense of humanity and warmth. He is one of Studio 4c's most promising creators, and I couldn't find a better opportunity to showcase his talent to the world than this episode.
- Eiko Tanaka: [about Origins] When I first heard about this project, I was literally floored by the sheer scope and size of the Halo universe. And I realized a story like Origins is not something that can be taken lightly. To take on the challenge of this epic story telling I needed a director who would love the Halo Universe and would be passionate enough to explore and express even the smallest details. Futumura was the perfect person for this. He had previously worked on telling the history of the Matrix Universe in Animatrix. So he came with experience as well as an established ability to tell a story like Origins.
- Mitsuhisa Ishikawa: [about Production I.G and The Duel] Production I.G is a group of artists and producers who gather around the director Oshii with the goal of creating stunning visually complex works of anime.
- Mamoru Oshii: [about The Duel] My name is Mamoru Oshii. I considered working on The Duel to be an incredible opportunity. I've been a fan of Western computer games such as Wizardy for years. So much so that these games have to an extent really had a considerable influence on my storytelling and my visual style. Of course I was aware of Halo so I knew I wanted to be apart of it.
