Interesting look inside a traveller family feud.
24 August 2011 | by See all my reviews

These feuds start and carry on for generations, so long that some of the people involved don't know how they started. When 2 top guys from opposing clans fight everyone in the family drops money on their man at even odds.

Some of the fights had up to £60,000 riding on them, £30k from each clan. With a loss not only does one of your top fighters get beat which reflects on the strength of the family but everyone has lost money and has to listen to the trash talk from the other family (sending in WWF style challenges and put downs on DVD). As long as there is a loser there can only be bad blood as far as I can see.

The film is roughly 60% family backgrounds and fight build up with 40% fight footage, while some of the guys are shown training traditional boxing the fights themselves are more brawls for the most part. Clinches are ripped apart straight away and there are no breaks so it goes on to it's over by KO or to a fighter retires, a lot of the fights were good enough to watch and not like some I've seen in the past with 20 feints and 1 punch every 5 minutes.

The main character and top man of his clan is a likable guy and I ended up rooting for him and his brother against whoever they were fighting.
