27 December 2011 11:47 PM, PST | Cinelinx | See recent Cinelinx news »

March and April have quickly become more and more populated.  It seems like all the rejected summer blockbusters flock to these two months, hoping the lack of competition will garner them box office glory.  Well it doesn't always work, you can't deny that there is money to be made during these two months.  And, evident from today's Prelude to 2012, studios want as much money as they can squeeze from these two months.  Hit the jump for full details on over 25 films hoping to make an impact in the limbo between Summer and the beginning of the year.  Who knows...you may just find something you'll like.

March has always been a busy time for film.  In fact, I would say that the year doesn't truly kick off Until this month.  Yeah, there's a couple notable releases in January and February (as shown here), but March is when the first blockbusters »

Germain’s 10 Most Anticipated Films of 2012

27 December 2011 12:00 PM, PST | Slash Film | See recent Slash Film news »

If 2012 is the end of the world, that's all right with me. Hollywood has overstocked the Mayan calendar's final year with so many potentially amazing movies that trying to cut it down to a top ten was virtually impossible. How could movies like The Amazing Spider-Man, Brave or Lincoln not be on this list? Ten then became twenty, which was more satisfying but there were still a few major films lingering. So, while I could have easily done 30, here are my ten most anticipated films with a bloated honorable mention list. Is your most anticipated on the list? Here are my honorable mention anticipated films of 2012, from least to most anticipated: John Carter, This is 40, World War Z, Gangster Squad, Wreck-It Ralph, Lincoln, The Amazing Spider-Man, Brave, American Reunion, Looper And now the top 10, complete with photos and brief descriptions. 10. Seann William Scott Knocks Everybody Out In Great New Trailer For Goon

23 December 2011 1:00 AM, PST | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

We’ve seen some brilliant things from Seann William Scott’s next movie, the upcoming ice hockey comedy Goon, in the past few months, most recently including the film’s first UK trailer and poster as well as an awesome clip from the film just a few days ago.

Along with Scott, the film also stars Jay Baruchel, Liev Schreiber, Alison Pill, Kim Coates, and Scott’s American Pie co-star, Eugene Levy (who he’ll be returning alongside in that franchise for American Reunion come April next year).

We’ve now got a great new trailer to share with you, courtesy of iTunes Movie Trailers, via ComingSoon.net, with plenty of awesome new footage from the film and lots of Scott beating the hell out of everybody in sight. It’s a green band trailer this time around, so if you’re still at work, this should lift your spirits »

Baby No. 2 for Alyson Hannigan, Alexis Denisof

16 December 2011 2:00 PM, PST | People - CelebrityBabies | See recent People - CelebrityBabies news »

Noel Vasquez/FilmMagic

Looks like Alyson Hannigan is ready for another lottery win!

The How I Met Your Mother star, 37, and husband Alexis Denisof are expecting their second child, her rep confirms to People.

The confirmation comes three months after Hannigan took to Twitter to shoot down pregnancy rumors when she was spotted leaving Malibu’s Chili Cook Off with a noticeable bump.

Already parents to daughter Satyana Marie, 2½, the actress — whose new movie American Reunion is due out next year — admitted last April that the couple were unsure as to whether they would be expanding their family.

Alyson Hannigan is pregnant

16 December 2011 1:39 PM, PST | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

"How I Met Your Mother" star Alyson Hannigan is pregnant again. According to Us Weekly, her rep has confirmed what was very obvious in a recent photograph. Her daughter with "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" co-star Alexis Denisof is about to be a big sister.

The two, who met while filming "Buffy" have a 2-year-old daughter, Satyana. "Alyson is thrilled to be pregnant!" a source tells Us. "She's been wearing baggy clothes to cover the baby bump."

Alyson's character Lilly is pregnant on the show, so they won't have to strategically cover her belly with plants, signs or pots of stew.

Hannigan and Denisof have been married since 2003. The sequel to "American Pie" and "American Wedding," "American Reunion" is currently in post-production.

A ton of new posters have recently found their way online and instead of doing twelve individual posts or just ignoring a few of them I figured I'd give you a gallery update all at once as I have a pair of new banners for The Avengers to share, a first look at the teaser poster for The Expendables 2, a portrait poster of Sacha Baron Cohen as The Dictator, a pretty cool "Capitol" poster for The Hunger Games and IMAX poster for John Carter and a few more after that. In all there are 12 posters in the gallery, which you can access using the thumbnails directly below and I've also added a few new movie stills to the site recently that I've included links to at the end of this post. Call-In Commentary: Watch the "Pariah" trailer with writer-director Dee Rees

16 December 2011 9:49 AM, PST | ifc.com | See recent IFC news »

It's no surprise that young people have trouble finding themselves and subsequently fitting into larger society. It's a challenging path to self-discovery, and as the "It Gets Better" campaign has taught us, for gay youths that journey is often made exponentially more difficult. Such is the case with Alike (in a standout performance from actress Adepero Oduye), a lesbian teenager struggling to find herself amongst her African-American community.

"Pariah" follows the trials and tribulations of this young character as she embarks on a search of sexual expression and identity, and marks the feature film directorial debut of Dee Rees, the film's writer-director. To get a better sense of the movie, we asked Dees to participate in our "Call-In Commentary" series where filmmakers provide narration to their movie trailer. In the video below, hear firsthand about the state her main character lives in and the search she's boldly plunging into.

Seann William Scott Meets The Team In New Red Band Clip From Goon

12 December 2011 11:00 AM, PST | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

We’ll be seeing Seann William Scott hitting the big screen quite a few times next year, first off with the upcoming hockey comedy Goon, which is set to be a brilliant kick-start to the new year, coming to our cinemas the first weekend of 2012.

We got our first trailer for the film back in September, followed by another terrific trailer last month, and we’ve now got a fantastic (unofficially red band) new clip to share with you, courtesy of Empire. Nothing red band in terms of visuals, just a healthy dose of F-bombs and the like, so not suitable for work.

Movie Poster Round-Up: The Dark Knight Rises, The Amazing Spider-Man, Men in Black 3

11 December 2011 9:14 AM, PST | FilmJunk | See recent FilmJunk news »

We've got some new movie posters for you this weekend, including a pretty badass teaser poster for The Dark Knight Rises. If you ask me, it's lending more credibility to the rumours that Batman will actually die, although it could also just be playing up the fact that Bane is "The Man Who Broke the Bat." In addition, we've also got a new teaser poster for The Amazing Spider-Man, a strange one for Will Ferrell's Spanish-language comedy Casa de Mi Padre and that mysterious one-sheet for Joss Whedon's The Cabin in the Woods. The marketing team behind The Darkest Hour clearly took some notes from the District 9 viral campaign as they have released a handful of very familiar-looking alien warning signs, while the new American Reunion poster attempts to recreate the very first American Pie poster. However, I think my favourites are the Men in Black 3 teaser »

Call-In Commentary: Watch "The Sitter" trailer with director David Gordon Green

9 December 2011 1:37 PM, PST | ifc.com | See recent IFC news »

Would you trust foul-mouthed, girl-chasing Jonah Hill with your kids? That's the focal point of "The Sitter," the "Superbad" star's newest R-rated comedy. In the film, Hill is pressed into babysitting duties with a trio of attitude-ridden kids, and is soon embroiled in one misadventure after another.

The man behind the madness is David Gordon Green, the "George Washington" auteur who delivered "Pineapple Express" and "Your Highness" to the stoner crowd and is now going for rauch-inspired laughs (before he heads to the horror genre). To get an insider's take on "The Sitter," we recruited Green for our "Call-In Commentary" series where filmmakers provide narration to their movie trailer. In the video below, hear Green describe the inspirations for the film, how the cast improvised and more. "The Sitter" hits theaters today.

Brilliant First Poster For American Reunion Takes Us Back To The Beginning

9 December 2011 3:30 AM, PST | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

If you’re at all sceptical about the upcoming sequel in the American Pie series, you’ve got nothing to worry about. Everything we’ve seen so far – which includes two terrific trailers, and plenty of other great stuff – has been completely spot on.

With all of the original prinipals from the original three films reprising their roles, American Reunion looks like it’s going to be one of next year’s best comedies.

One of the first things we saw from the film was the teaser poster back in August, and MTV Movies have now got the first proper poster to share with us, and it’s brilliant, paying homage to American Pie’s instantly recognisable poster from way back in 1999 (which you can see underneath in case you’ve forgotten, courtesy of Wikipedia).

New poster for American Reunion

9 December 2011 12:37 AM, PST | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

American Pie 4 is heading to cinemas in April. And the latest poster harks right back to the original…

MTV has premiered the brand new poster for American Reunion, the big screen resurrection of the American Pie franchise. And basically, it’s taken the original American Pie poster from over a decade ago, and brought everyone back, looking older and – in one case – hairier.

We’ve got optimism for American Reunion, which even seems to be surviving the Photoshop work on show here. We’ll leave you with the poster for now, though.

American Reunion gets a new poster

8 December 2011 11:56 PM, PST | TotalFilm | See recent TotalFilm news »

American Pie sequel American Reunion has been given a new poster, and it’s a deliberate homage to the one-sheet that accompanied the original film back in 1999. Kevin might have a beard these days, and Oz’s hair is clearly starting to run away from his face, but apart from that the gang look relatively unchanged from when we first met them more than a decade ago. You’ll also notice that Michelle is clutching a baby bottle rather than a flute, and that Jim’s ill-used dessert is down to the final slice. It’s...

Theatrical ‘American Reunion’ Poster is Sort of Sad

8 December 2011 4:31 PM, PST | The Film Stage | See recent The Film Stage news »

American Reunion is hitting theaters next year, and if you’ve been paying attention to all of the promotional material thus far you’ve probably noticed how hard Universal is trying to convince the masses that we’ve missed Jim and the gang and that they are one of the most iconic franchises in the history of the universe. In an effort to continue this trend, the studio debuted the new poster for the upcoming sequel on MTV‘s site (images courtesy of Movies.com), to appeal to the youth demographic (most of whom probably haven’t seen the original trilogy or don’t hold it in a particular high regard). The interesting thing about this? It’s a mirror image of the 1999 original’s poster except 11 years later. Because, you know, that’s clever. Check it out below, followed by the original.

Does anyone else get sort of sad looking at this? »

New ‘American Reunion’ Poster Calls Back to Old ‘American Pie’ Poster

8 December 2011 3:30 PM, PST | Slash Film | See recent Slash Film news »

[1] Since so much of the appeal of American Reunion lies in whatever lingering affection you have for 1999's American Pie, it's only natural that the marketing folks would try at every turn to remind you of how much you loved the first movie. That tactic is especially evident in the film's just-released poster, which recreates the one from the original. Sure, Jim (Jason Biggs) has clothes on, Michelle (Alyson Hannigan) is holding a baby bottle instead of a flute, Oz (Chris Klein) has way less hair, and the gang is apparently eating pies now instead of fucking them -- but the overall picture looks very familiar. Check it out after the jump. Here's the American Reunion poster: [2] And for comparison, the American Pie one: [3][both posters via Movies.com [4]] I'm really hoping that the substitution of a baby bottle for the flute doesn't imply that Michelle will be doing to the former in this installment »
