Trivia

Both Alex O'Loughlin and James Marsters have portrayed vampires in a television series. James Marsters portrayed the vampire Spike in the cult classic "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and the other Joss Whedon hit show and spin off to Buffy, "Angel" Alex O'Loughlin portrayed a vampire named Mick St John in the 2007-2008 television series "MoonLight". The original name of the vampire Alex O'Loughlin portrayed was going to be Mike Angel, but the show producers didn't want any confusion with the show "Angel." The show was also originally going to be titled "Twilight," but with the growing popularity of the books by Stephanie Meyer, of the same name if not different spelling, it was decided to change the name, to again not cause confusion. While "Buffy" ran for 7 seasons and "Angel" ran for 5 seasons, unfortunately "Monnlight" only lasted 1 season as ratings did not support its continuation. See more »

Det. Chin Ho Kelly: Laser audio surveillance. You don't need a wire to get a confession out of your hupo ass.
Sang Min: [scoffs] I'm gonna sue you for entrapment. And when I'm done collecting, I'm gonna find that little hottie you sent in here, and this time, I'm gonna be less of a gentleman.
[Chin Ho backhands Sang Min with a cigarette ashtray; Steve enters]
Det. Chin Ho Kelly: Sorry, boss.
Det. Steve McGarrett: I didn't see anything.
Sang Min: You didn't see anything? Son of a bitch hit me!
Det. Steve McGarrett: You wanna file a report, you're gonna need a witness.

Promising beginning
22 September 2010 | by (Calgary AB Canada) – See all my reviews

I watched this show with low expectations; I liked Jack Lord and Wo Fat and the theme song. The theme song made my day! The cast is amazing; great casting from the lead all the way through. Good solid character actors doing what they do best: act. The writing is perhaps a bit derivative but it rather has to be; there are only so many plots.but the cast and writers make the best of it. Sure it is an 'odd buddy' movie but also one mixed with a touch of "Magnificent Seven" or "Chichi no Samurai". The interaction between these folks and the rest of the cast, in fact all the interpersonal relations, are well written. Good human relations without soap opera. The sketching of what makes Hawaii different is very well done, much better indeed than what I recall of the Lord series. So it is a very promising beginning.
