Epic mystery

Warning: Spoilers
The show has turned into an amazing rollercoaster of a mystery. While the CGI isn't perfect, I don't watch the show for the CGI. I watch it for the writing and acting. Natalie is amazing once again in her actin prowess. The episode answers a couple things but is not going to give it all away too fast, which I like. The show is aiming to do a slow build to the ultimate mystery reveal. The only qualm I have with this episode was I wish they would have done a total of 2-3 episodes of Gavin, Iz and Ella treking it to LA but instead they seem to solve that problem in the first episode. I would have liked to see more of Gavin and his daughter working together solo in 10,000 BC but instead it appears they are just solving the travel problem in the season 2 pilot.

One hour of the same old nonsense - a bad way to start off a season premier.
Top_Dawg_Critic28 September 2022
You'd think in between seasons, the writers and producers would read the critics comments and make some much needed adjustments, but instead, we get the same lame cat and mouse game writing. In this one hour season premier, nothing new happens; it's the same old walk a little further, encounter the same elements and conflicts, add some new scenery in between, and the same cheesy logic and dialogue we've seen throughout the last season. Clearly any creative juices have evaporated and fell through the La Brea hole. Even the set pieces look cheaper than they did last season, or I'm just getting tired of seeing the same cheaply assembled sets. The chemistry between all the actors has even become more of a soap opera cringe and laughable variety, especially their dialogue. I also feel the directing has lapsed in quality, because it also seemed the actors were just filling in the runtime walking over here, then over there, then back here. It's all a bunch of nonsense, and I've lost any interest in caring what happens next. I'm guessing this will be the final season, unless the network needs a bigger write-off.

Easily the dumbest show on TV
FENR8R10 October 2022
I hoped the second season would fix the naked idiocy of the first season. Nope. It's at least as bad, if not worse than before. Aside from the local wildlife being native to the other side of the planet, the plot holes make Swiss cheese seem solid and bubble free. Wild gaps in logic that even the dumbest characters should stumble upon if only by accident but, no, they fall into the logic sinkholes too. How can so many people act so recklessly? Like LOST, every episode creates more questions and answer none. It's very frustrating because every new thing that pops up screams WHY? Can we not make SOME sense first? Alas, this series is hopeless. It's only redeeming value is to mock it mercilessly. Too bad, though, it was a cool concept. It's just so shabbily executed.

Why not go prepared

Warning: Spoilers
Gavin , Izzy , and Ella. Found the sinkhole in a field in Seattle and they just jumped straight into it. The sinkholes usually stay open for several days before they collapse or close. So my question is this . Gavin knows how dangerous the world is where they are going!! So why does he not wait a few hours to stock up on supplies. A backpack of food and medicine and with the ease of obtaining weapons in the USA in 2022 . Take a couple of assault rifles and hand guns for him And his daughter. They land on a beach with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Should have bought hard wearing clothes and hiking boots. It's crazy as Gavin is a military guy who should have known better than to go unprotected and unarmed.
