Sex & Nudity

5/10

A woman ties a man's hands to a chair and sits in front of him then slowly lifts her dress and begins to masturbate as the man watches silently; we see the woman from behind, she is fully clothed but her hand is at her crotch and we hear her moaning sexually.

We briefly see what appears to be a brothel where a man sits on a sofa and watches as a woman guides a man's hands to her crotch, and then up her skirt; it is implied, using cross-shots, that a woman is watching her adult son watch a woman being manually stimulated; we then see that she is actually watching three men wearing only jock-strap underwear (their bare buttocks are visible) pose and flex.

A man goes to a brothel, asks the male proprietor to have sex with a 14-year-old, then asks if the man has a teenage daughter, offering him a large sum of money to have sex with her; the proprietor declines and we see the man run into a room where women are wearing lingerie.

On multiple occasions we see shots inside what is implied to be a brothel, where we see women in various types of lingerie and see women appear to be sitting, waiting to be selected by men.

A man approaches three teen girls sitting outside; it is implied that they are prostitutes and he is hiring one.

A woman shares a lingering hug with her adult son: the woman wraps her arms around the man's torso and rests her head on his stomach and crotch.

A woman implies to a man that she and her son had a very close relationship, which made her younger son jealous and it is implied that the woman means she had a sexual relationship with her son.

A woman and her adult son have an odd sexual tension throughout the movie, including the woman lovingly rubbing the man's arm with her finger and hugging him.

Some vulgar sexual dialog.

Violence & Gore

9/10

A man has a glass cup smashed into the back of head.

A man beats a prostitute, punching her several times in the face.

The dead body of a 16 year old prostitute is seen covered in blood with some thick blood splashed against the wall.

A man's bloody mutilated corpse is seen. His head has been crushed and we see large bits of bloody skull lying about. His eyes have been gouged out and half of his face has been torn off. Blood is splashed all over the walls.

A man is shown covered in blood after beating a man to death off screen.

A man's arm is sliced off with a sword off screen. We later see the stump wrapped in cloth.

Blood pours out of a sink faucet in a nightmare.

We quickly see a man's arm is sliced off with a sword. Blood spurts out of the stump and we briefly see bits of bone protruding. However, it's revealed to be an illusion.

A man has a glass smashed into his face. The back of his thigh is then stomped upon snapping his leg. He is dragged down a hallway by the roof of his mouth.

A man has two knives driven into his back. His throat is then slit with blood briefly coming out of the wound.

A large crowd of people are mowed down with automatic weapons. We see some bloody gunshot wounds.

A man is shot in the head spraying blood.

A man has boiling oil thrown on his face. He is then beaten down with a frying pan.

A man has his chest sliced open. His ribs and (for a split second) organs are seen. Blood spurts everywhere. Probably the most graphic scene of the film.

A man has two pairs of metal chopsticks driven through his arms and legs. His right eye is then sliced open with a knife with pouring blood. The knife is then driven into his left eye socket with more pouring blood. A long blade is then driven into his ear drum. Fairly gruesome scene.

A man is beaten in a martial arts fight. He is covered in blood and has a large black eye.

A cop is shot in the head just offscreen.

A woman is stabbed in the throat with a sword. Blood spews everywhere.

A dead woman has her stomach sliced open with a sword and a man sticks his hand inside the wound.

A woman is shot in the back.

A man is shot offscreen multiple times. Blood splatters on a child's face.

A man (supposedly) has both his arms chopped off with a sword. The scene cuts away before we see or hear anything.

Profanity

6/10

About 12 fucks and its derivatives, 5 sexual references, 2 anatomical terms, 1 mild obscenity, 1 derogatory racial term and 1 goddamn, at least two uses of Cunt

5/10

We see what appears to be a drug deal and a woman hands a man a small packet as they appear to be exchanging money.

A woman offers a man "five kilos of coke" for his participation in a crime.

A woman tells another woman that her adult son (the woman's date) sells drugs to make money and then describes that the man sells heroin and cocaine.

We see men and women drinking cocktails.

Two men offer a man a cocktail.

A woman is surrounded by wine glasses at a table.

We see men and women smoking cigarettes throughout the movie.

7/10

The whole movie has a dark and eerie atmosphere.

The interrogation scene is unflinching and graphic. And it's very prolonged too.

Most of the violent scenes may disturb, although they are rarely unexpected. And most of it takes place offscreen. A couple notable exceptions are during a gruesome interrogation scene, when a woman is stabbed in the throat, spewing blood everywhere, and when a man has his stomach sliced open, exposing ribs and a fair amount of blood.

Subtle themes of prostitution, pedophilia, implied incest, and rape may be unsettling for some.
