''Samantha threatened me, and I was shocked''

Naga Chaitanya, during the recent media interaction of his upcoming film Yuddham Sharanam, recollected about his initial love moments with Samantha.

He has reportedly said that "We fell in love during the making of Ye Maaya Chesave (Telugu version of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya) in 2009 and the love affair continued very well in the following years.

I was, however, delaying revealing to my parents about my love affair despite Sam’s insistence. One day, when we were chatting casually, Sam threatened to tie a ‘rakhi’ on me if I didn’t tell about the love to my parents. I was shocked...

Samantha Ruth Prabhu takes over Sonam Kapoor’s role

  • Bollyspice
Sonam Kapoor will not be making her debut down south, as she has decided not to go ahead with Mani Ratnam’s new Tamil movie, which is debuting Tamil actor Karthik’s son Gautham. Sonam’s loss has become latest upcoming actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s gain. Even though Mani wanted Sonam to play the role, she unfortunately was not ready and didn’t want to give out wrong signals to the Hindi cinema industry. Samantha is excited about the opportunity, expressing that “It’s more than a dream come true for me…I am looking forward to working with such a revered filmmaker”.

Samantha was introduced into the industry first by director Gautham Menon, through his Telegu film Ye Maaya Chesave. Now, she will debut in Hindi films with Menon’s Assi Nabey Poore Sau. Apparently, Sonam was also considered for the role but Samantha became the final decision.

Ekk Deewana Tha Movie Review

Love is the most simple and also the most complicated emotion. Complicated further by people and society. Which is why the simple boy-girl-meet-fall-in-love premise has been able to offer so many storylines to abundant moviemakers. Where there is romance, there will be those clichés, but it’s the way these are twisted, decorated, wrapped and presented to the audience that makes the whole difference. Gautham Menon has been known to effectively portray complex human emotions and reactions and has given us some beautiful love stories in his movies no matter what genre: Minnale/Rehna Hai Tere Dil Main, Kaakha Kaakha, Vaaranam Aayiram. Having portrayed twice earlier, Gautham brings to you again the story of Karthik-Jessie from Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa –aka Vv- (Tamil) and Ye Maaya Chesave (Telugu) to the north

audience as Ekk Deewana Tha (Edt).

“I thought it’s a story that needs to be told to a wider audience.” – Gautham Menon

Gautham Menon, the director of this week’s new release Ekk Deewana Tha spoke to our London reporter Sunny Malik about the film which is a remake of his blockbuster Tamil movie Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. The film was also remade into Telugu as Ye Maaya Chesave in 2010.

Gautham has directed numerous Tamil and Telegu films but the last Hindi film he directed was the 2001 release Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein.

Ekk Deewana Tha starring British sensation Amy Jackson and Prateik Babbar is Menon’s second Hindi directorial venture and is termed a ‘musical’ with an original soundtrack composed by A.R. Rahman.

Can you tell me a little bit about the film ‘Ekk Deewana Tha’?

I would not call it a different love story, but it’s a real love story. It’s a love story people normally identify with and have seen in their own lives. It’s also musical, the way it has been treated.

Action! Romance! Comedy! Nepotism! Dhada Trailer Appears Online.

It is very rare for a leading man (or woman) to get a break in big budget Indian cinema without a long lineage in the business, and Dhada star Naga Chaitanya is no exception.  Both of his grandfathers have deep roots in Telugu cinema, as does his father and his uncle, but Naga seems to be doing alright anyway.  His debut in Josh (a great name for a movie, by the way) won him a Filmfare award for best debut, and his next couple of leading roles in last year's Ye Maaya Chesave and 100% Love also did very well at the box office. I have yet to see any of these films, but Ye Maaya Chesave is name checked frequently when people talk about...
