I Guess This Is Us!
Hitchcoc4 July 2019
We are put on a merry go round of life with a depressed young man. We are made to feel what he feels, which is mostly nothing. His actions are superfluous. His joys are non-existent. That which would give pleasure to some do nothing for him. But life takes him here and there. Will love be the answer? Maybe, but it will take some work.

Brilliantly realised storytelling

Warning: Spoilers
An outstanding film in which a young man grapples with the death of his father over a period of several years. The film takes on a very human issue - that of the death of a parent - and dissects it in a lively, at times humorous, and emotionally moving way. It speaks of how all humans deal with key moments in their lives, how each persons experience differs and, yet, how there are many similarities in the way we all manage to get through personal tragedy. This film is a genuine learning and growing experience for the viewer. The animation treatment of the material is beautifully done, changing style and technique effortlessly and in a way that entertains and helps move the story along with a flare and sense of timing that is often missing in animated shorts. If you get a chance to see this film take it, it really is something special and rewards repeated viewings to reveal the subtleties and nuances of both the script and animation.
