Incredibly disappointing episode of Raw.
20 February 2010 | by (victoria b.c canada) – See all my reviews

This raw had so much potential, but once again Vince shows a lack of effort, and giving us the same old stuff. I'll give you my thoughts.

Sheamus Vs Randy Orton. Defeaning pop for Orton. WWE may have something special here, as long as they treat his character right. Better than the Royal Rumble outing they had, they shared a lot more chemistry. Crowd is just begging for a Orton face turn. Orton has the match well in hand, but Cody seemingly Dq's Orton by accident. Orton is livid after the match, giving the RKO to Cody, while Sheamus gives the big boot to Ted. Crowd is begging for an RKO on Sheamus, and they get just that, Orton motions toward the crowd, to a big pop. If that wasn't an act of a semi face, I don't know what is. Orton has the ability to be the biggest anti-hero since Austin.

Bret is heading to the ring. Good pop for Bret. Bret says Vince isn't here tonight, but he would have waited for him, in the hotel, outside his car or the airport. Bret stops in, to soak in the big Bret chants. Bret says he came back with good intentions, and to make peace with Mcmahon. It wasn't meant to be for him though, he tried to put things into perspective, and Vince lied to him, and all he hears is that he deserves to be screwed. Bret says Vince deserves to have the holly hell beat out of him, and he's the worst liar, bottom of the barrel. He says he had his heart set on beating Vince at Mania, but that won't happen now. He says victory lasts a life time, but excellence lasts forever. He thanks the fans for their support, and welcoming him back, and especially John Cena, because in essence he's his friend. He thanks the fans once more, and leaves. Kofi, Swagger, and others put over Bret, and claim it's been a pleasure. Cena tells him not to quit, and they are so close. As Bret gets in the limo, we hear Bret yelp. Cena chases off the Blonde chick, who backed into him, as Bret gets carried off in an ambulance. Could be a ploy to get Vince to wrestle Bret, or have Bret in Cena's corner, with Vince in Batista's. OK segment, felt kinda weak to me.

Show&Miz Vs Henry&MVP. MVP needs to turn back heel, because he has failed miserably as a face. Boring as you would expect. Vince is jut trying to recreate the success that Jerishow had. MVP&Henry win.

Jerry Springer show. Wow so Kelly really does sleep around after all|Joke fans, joke|. Pointless segment of Kelly revealing the different guys she's slept with. Jerry Lawler comes in for the fun. Springer gets weirded out and heads, back only to realize it was all for fun. We find out Jerry has the hots for Mae Young. Wow...just wow.

Kofi Kingston Vs Ted Dibiase. Could have been great, but terrible booking. Ted barely gets any offense in what so ever, only to hit Dream Street, at the end of the match?.

Jerry Springer cuddles with Mae Young. Vince really does have a messed up mind.

Cena is out to a mixed reaction, per usual. John says he does not know much about Batista's condition, but wishes him well. He says Batista attacked to him, to know provocation to his knowledge. He says he does not go looking for fights, only when provoked. Cena wants him to come out, but Dave is on the titantron. John makes a joke that he was out shopping at a Polo store, and he will turn his back so Batista can come out. Dave acts all cocky and says John does not want him in the same building, let alone the same ring, and he has feeling they will be. John says those are the words of a tough guy, and that Dave does not want any of him. Dave flashes his smile, and John says he no dentist, but he will take care of the smile. Batista claims all he does is yap, when he isn't there. Batista wants Cena to win the chamber. Cena says if Dave wants some, to come and get some. Dave says it's cute and leaves. Well done segment. I'm not a fan of Dave's, but his heel turn has done wonders, and Cena was as usual, reliable.

John Cena Vs Triple H. The announcers keep hyping this, as a Wrestlemania worthy type event. Nowhere near the level of there Wrestlemania match, but not bad indeed. Match ends when Sheamus interferes and cleans house. Made Sheamus look strong, but I'm not buying him.

2 1/2 /5

Bottom line. Terrible raw in most regards. Boring action, disappointing continuation of the story lines, outside of a few spots, and a lack of effort sink this one.
