Everyone loves the lines of a beautiful classic car. Some have a much greater appreciation than others... as the saying goes, 'they don't make them like they use to.'

Exceptionally nice for a student film...
7 November 2011 | by (Bradenton, Florida) – See all my reviews

A few days ago, I had to drive my teenager to the mall and had a few hours to kill while she shopped. Oddly, the local art school, Ringling, had created a mini theater in the mall in which they showed off various films by their students. And, being an insane lover of film shorts, I sat back and watched about a dozen of these films. They all were quite good.

"Cadillac '59" has a very, very simple plot. This really isn't a complaint--the film was meant more as a way for this art student to show off their skills with CGI. While the animation wasn't as good as you'd see from a Pixar or other top studio, this isn't what you'd expect from a young student--in this case Hamilton Lewis. The story is weird and the ending very cute and unexpected. Considering how inexperienced Lewis is, I can't wait to see their work in the future. Nice job.
