"Shark Tank" and "Blue Bloods" still led ABC and CBS to their usual primetime split on Friday night, though both shows were on the low side, continuing a recent downward trend for nightly ratings.  Spring fever? Rumour: Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off in the works?

10 April 2015 12:35 AM, PDT | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Are Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. producer Jeffrey Bell and writer Paul Zbyszewski working on a spin-off to Marvel’s tent-pole TV project?

Here’s one to file under ‘rumour’ until we see an official statement from someone involved. However, as it originates from a reputable source like Entertainment Weekly, there’s certainly a chance there’s a truth to it.

The rumour we’re talking about? That would be the existence of an Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off, a story that EW posted last night. They’re claiming that S.H.I.E.L.D.’s exec producer Jeffrey Bell (Angel, The X-Files) and writer Paul Zbyszewski (Lost, Hawaii Five-0) are working on a top secret project that will spin-out from Marvel’s tent-pole TV project.

Perhaps this shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, seeing as Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. has always done a more or less decent trade in ratings. »

Because even though Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. just a week ago tied a series low in the demo, ABC is reportedly eyeballing a spinoff of the sophomore drama.

Weekly Ratings: College Basketball Dominates; Mixed Bag for Religious Programming

8 April 2015 5:49 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

One week after AMC’s “The Walking Dead” ended its season, the Final Four college basketball contest between Wisconsin and undefeated Kentucky towered over all other programs in the weekly rankings.

The Badgers’ upset victory over the Wildcats on Saturday night averaged a big 5.8 rating/19 share in adults 18-49 and 16.8 million viewers on TBS. But if you include the simulcasts on both TNT and truTV, the Turner networks combined to do a 7.3/23 in the demo and drew 22.63 million viewers overall — the largest audience for the round in 23 years.

That made it especially dominant in a holiday frame that saw reduced ratings for several shows later in the week. CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory,” for example, returned Thursday after a two-week hiatus to easily its lowest scores of the season. It wasn’t alone, though, as ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal” also hit lows on the night.

TV Ratings: 'Blue Bloods,' 'Hawaii Five-0' make it a Good Friday for CBS

4 April 2015 8:45 AM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Fast National ratings for Friday, April 3, 2015. Good Friday and the first night of Passover had a smaller impact on the Friday ratings race than ABC's "Shark Tank" repeat, as "The Amazing Race," "Hawaii Five-0" and "Blue Bloods" were able to sweep the primetime hours and give CBS wins in most measures. Friday offered little else of note, though The CW got decent numbers for "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" and Fox's "21 Jump Street" airing couldn't compete with last week's "Grown Ups." Oh and "Cristela" was up for ABC, if you're paying attention. Apparently there was a crossover with "Last Man Standing." Who knew? On to the numbers... Among adults 18-49, CBS averaged a 1.2 rating for Friday night, tops in the key demographic. NBC's 1.1 key demo rating and the 1.0 key demo rating for ABC followed close behind. Fox's 0.7 key demo rating and the 0.4 key demo rating for The CW trailed. Overall, CBS »
