We love to spend the holidays with Bill Murray. There's Ghostbusters II on New Year's Eve, Hyde Park on Hudson on President's Day, Groundhog Day on Groundhog Day and, of course, Scrooged at Christmas*. Now we're going to have more of the actor to watch on that last holiday, because he's starring in a special called A Very Murray Christmas, which will debut on Netflix this December. Fans of Scrooged should be happy with the program, as one of that movie's screenwriters, Mitch Glazer, is now co-writing this with Murray and Sofia Coppola, who is also directing the special. Coppola worked with both Murray and Glazer on Lost in Translation, the former starring and the latter an associate producer on the...

Eternal life and eternal youth are two things the world, but particularly America, are infatuated with. People swallow handfuls of vitamins, eat the greenest of foods, and do a tremendous amount of exercise in order to stay in top physical condition to live a longer life. Medical advancements are such that lifespans have grown by decades. In terms of youth, people lather their faces with creams and lotions or just surgically alter their faces in order to look like they are still in "the prime of their life." Of course, these things end up being frivolous. Everyone ends up the same way. Dead. What if someone did have eternal life and was eternally young thoughc How would this person be able to justify it to anyone, form relationships with people, or just not be seen as a freakc The Age of Adaline looks to wrestle with these potentially very interesting questions. »

Nothing is more frustrating than watching a film with so much potential make one disastrous mistake after another. That, sadly, is the disappointing reality of Lee Toland Kreiger's "The Age of Adaline." The movie's premise is easy to grasp: 29-year-old Adaline Bowman (Blake Lively) was born at the turn of the century, but after a strange car accident in the 1930's she discovers she will not age a single day more. Decades pass as her daughter ages beyond her, and she begins taking false identities to avoid being discovered by the press or, worse, government agents who might have suspicions about her status. The latter might also want to make her a guinea pig to discover why she's become immortal (a story tangent the film quickly abandons). By 2014, Bowman seems resigned to a life of loneliness until Ellis Jones (Michiel Huisman of "Game of Thrones") spots her across the room »

Anna Magnani in a publicity photo for The Passionate Thief. One thing cinephiles learn fast is just how easy it is, thanks to the limits and whims of distribution, for celebrated films to fade into the background outside their homeland. So one way to begin with Italian director Mario Monicelli is how overshadowed he is today on the world stage. You could say, only half-ironically, that he'd be more famous if only more people had heard of him, or if his global reputation kept up with the one he holds in Italy. Monicelli began filmmaking in the 1930s, was a prolific screenwriter in the 40s, took off as a director in the 50s, and continued making movies without much pause until his death in 2010. In his heyday as a hitmaker, he worked with stars like Anna Magnani, Marcello Mastroianni, Totò, Claudia Cardinale, and Monica Vitti. He once shared a Golden »

Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting isn't fazed by those divorce rumors! The "Big Bang Theory" star took to Instagram on Sunday to address recent speculation that her marriage to husband Ryan Sweeting is on the rocks. "I have never been more proud of anyone on this planet – this guy is fighting back from a whirlwind of injuries and not to mention constant 'conversation' regarding our marriage and basically any daily decision we decide to make," the 29-year-old actress wrote, alongside a pic of her hubby playing tennis. "I'm so proud of his passion and his inner strength to fight back, but most of all I am proud to be his wife – so all of you who take it upon yourselves to trash our marriage, daily workings of our relationship and everything in between, go ahead and keep doing it, cause it only makes us stronger," she continued. "If you were smart, you would »

A review of the final "Mad Men" season premiere coming up just as soon as I try your veal... "That's not a coincidence! It's a sign!" -Ken "Of what?" -Don "The life not lived." -Ken A handsome man in a grey suit once asked, "But what is happiness? It's a moment before you need more happiness." And at a moment in time when that man and many of the people he worked with seem to have acquired a boatload of professional happiness — or, at least, money — a ghost danced in front of him and sang about how the best things in life are free. And as "Mad Men" returns from its last hiatus, having carried its characters out of the 1960s altogether, "Severance" is a reminder of how elusive happiness is for everyone, and how the life not lived seems at once far more appealing and impossible to actually explore. »

Successful scripted comedy is, for the most part, built on firmly established characters that an audience grows to loathe, love or basically care one jot about. Which is why Inside No 9 is such a wonderful anomaly.
The BBC Two anthology series – written by Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith – invites the audience into six standalone and terrifyingly bonkers worlds where the only constant is the number on the door of the house / booth / train carriage.
The first episode in the returning series, which begins tonight, is every bit as farcical, dark and hilarious as the comedy we've come to expect from Pemberton and Shearsmith.
'La Couchette' sees irritable Dr Maxwell (Shearsmith) trying and failing to fall asleep on an overnight train from Paris to Bourg St Maurice. He has an important job interview the following morning at the World Health Organisation.

Elle thankfully asked Ludacris what his favorite New Year's Eve–esque film was (that's the 2011 Garry Marshall flick he appeared in with the likes of Jon Bon Jovi), and without pause (we assume), he went with The Devil Wears Prada. "Come on," Elle questioned, pretty rudely. "I'm dead-ass serious," Luda answered. "I love that movie. It's not even so much a chick flick. It's the definition of a chick flick. It's about a fashion magazine. It's about leadership and focus. That's one of my favorite movies of all time, honestly. Period." Correct answer. »

Ludacris may have hoes in different area codes, but he'll always have a special place in his heart for Andy Sachs and Miranda Priestly. The rapper and actor, 37, revealed in a new interview with Elle magazine that one of his favorite movies is the 2006 classic chick flick The Devil Wears Prada. Appearing in the upcoming Furious 7, Ludacris was asked by Elle about his role in the 2011 romantic comedy New Year's Eve, and if he has a favorite film in the genre. "The Devil Wears [...] »

“Yes it's St. Patrick’s day. Yes I own and run a pub here in Dublin,” Reddit user bombidol explained in the intro to his Ama (Ask Me Anything). “It's 11:45am and the streets are already busy.”
Bombidol owns The Thomas House in Dublin and says St. Paddy’s Day is “one of our busiest days of the year.” Which seems like an understatement. “The city will pretty much be distorted and rebut tonight,” he writes.

Rihanna, girl, what's going on? (Whatever it is, we can work through this together!) Here's what we mean: In recent weeks, the singer has stepped out in outfits that we can only describe as, well, bag lady meets high fashion—a sort of curveball version of the boho chic look that the Olsen twins pretty much trademarked more than a decade ago. Really, it's not like the star has never worn daring looks before....it's just that lately daring has transgressed into wholly undone. (Read: If this is fashion-forward, we might not want to be part of the future.) It all started on New Year's Eve, when Rihanna stepped out in a electric blue Kye coat only a Cookie Monster could love. In the »

The couple started dating in mid-2013, and got engaged on on New Year's Eve in 2013, sources previously told Us. While they had been gearing up for their wedding for about a year, even holding an engagement party in March 2014, the two stars have since [...] »
The actress revealed that she only wrote the first draft of the movie to win a bet with comedy partner Dawn French.
"We had a live radio show at the end of [last] year so I produced a first draft by [then]! I literally vomited it out. On New Year's Eve it came out!"
She added: "There's some stuff I like, some stuff I've cut out. It'll be an ongoing process until it's actually finished."
It was also revealed that actress Rebel Wilson will star and that some of the film will be set in the French Riviera.
Of her time working with French, Saunders said: "I do miss it, »
