At the end of last week director David Slade tweeted that he would be bringing us some official Daredevil news this week. Well, that "news" may not be much more than we already knew. Check out this tweet from Latino Review's El Mayimbe.. So David Slade's big Daredevil news is that either his deal is now officially closed or that Kyle Killen delivered his draft. He sounds pretty sure about it, but obviously we will have to hear from Slade ourselves. Anyway, I really wan't expecting too much more than this at such an early stage...just a tad more on the story maybe! Anyway, even if this is all he has to reveal to us, at least it means things are officially up and running on the project. Oh, he also says Josh Hartnett will be playing Matt Murdock;) Article image courtesy of Obsessedwithfilm By TwitterButtons.com »
"Who knows what'll be coming up next - I have a lot of meetings and catching-up to do when I get back to La. The Wolverine is more interesting to me than Batman. A good Wolverine film could be an amazing thing."
Director David Slade, who we just reported last week is attached to direct 20th Century Fox's Daredevil Reboot, wanted to give an update to clear up any rumors about the Daredevil Reboot, as well as Deadpool and The Wolverine, via his Twitter page. Here is what he had to say:
"So without breaking confidentiality, yes Daredevil, we have a great outline for a very strong character driven take on Mr. Matt Murdock. It will bare no relation to the previous Daredevil movie in any way. We are at early planning stages and have not yet discussed any cast.
Love Deadpool, was never engaged in the (quite fantastic) script, last I heard studio was looking at comedy directors. None of my business.
The Wolverine, there have been no discussions about this project to date. »
There are varying reports swirling around this morning that 20th Century Fox is in no hurry to attach another director to its high profile Marvel Studios one-off The Wolverine. As you may know, original director Darren Aronofsky dropped out of the project, concerned that the extended shoot in Japan would keep him away from his son.
Though 20th Century Fox released a statement saying they planned to "regroup and move forward aggressively", a source close to the lingering project is saying otherwise. Apparently, there is no short list of directors being considered at this point in time, and the recent natural disaster in Japan, where much of this story takes place, is causing many unforeseen roadblocks that could stall The Wolverine even further.
Here is what the insider had to say.
"I think we're going to let it air out a bit before we approach another director. The one good thing, »
After the news surfaced that David Slade is directing the Untitled Daredevil Reboot, talk has now turned to who will star as Matt Murdock. There is speculation that Robert Pattinson may be in talks for the lead role.
David Slade directed Robert Pattinson in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse last year, and it seems there is "some kind of talk" about Robert Pattinson reuniting with the director for Daredevil. Robert Pattinson is currently shooting his last movie as the vampire Edward Cullen, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.
"It's a bit (like) Batman Begins. The bad guy will learn who Daredevil really is and tries to destroy him - but not via the usual methods."
Of course, »
Director David Slade (30 Days of Night, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) has signed on to direct a new Daredevil movie that will continue the story of the blind superhero established in 2003′s Daredevil, but feature a brand new cast (i.e., no Ben Affleck or Jennifer Garner). Former Fox chairman Peter Chernin will produce through his company Chernin Entertainment. No screenwriter has been announced. »

Let The Casting Speculation Begin!
"Daredevil" is being brought back to the big screen and David Slade is set to direct. Variety reports that the "Twilight: Eclipse" and "30 Days Of Night" helmer has landed the gig over at 20th Century Fox and the choice is pretty uninspired but not exactly surprising. David Slade was in the running for "The Wolverine" until Darren Aronofsky--who is total buds with Hugh Jackman--threw his hat in the ring. And coming off "Twilight: Eclipse," Slade has shown he can work well within a franchise setting. Frankly, the major factor for us will be who… »
