Melissa & Joey (2010–2015)
The half-hour comedy that’s executive-produced by Bob Youn, David Kendall, Paula Hart, Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence will return for its second year in 2012.
Launched in 2010, Melissa & Joey debuted as ABC Family’s No. 1 comedy ever in viewers, viewers 12-34 and across key 18-34 and 18-49 demos.
The network is ordering an additional 20 episodes of the show, which will be tacked on to the show's current 10-episode first season.
The comedy stars Melissa Joan Hart as a local politician and Joey Lawrence as her kids' "manny."
The series has averaged 1.7 million viewers since launching in August -- very strong viewership for an original comedy on ABC Family.
In addition, ABC Family has given a pilot order to "What Would Jane Do."
The move is the latest in a slew of pilot orders for the network, which already picked up "Strut," "Nine Lives," "Switched at Birth," "The Great State of Georgia," an untitled Brenda Hampton project and "The Lying Game."
The summer slate consists of three new series and several returning shows and movies.
"Pretty Little Liars," about four estranged friends who are reunited after their best friend goes missing, debuts Tuesday, June 8 at 8 p.m. "Huge" is from Winnie Holzman ("My So-Called Life") and follows the lives of teens at a weight-loss camp.
New half-hour multicamera comedy "Melissa & Joey" stars Melissa Joan Hart as a local politician and Joey Lawrence as her family's nanny.
These are in addition to the return of "Secret Life of the American Teenager" and last year's breakout hit "Make It or Break It."
