The wild world of competitive college cheer leading.
Ashley Tisdale finally looks right in her natural hair color - in the past, I always mentally placed her blonde version in the same bucket as Paris Hilton. But it's a real and pleasant surprise to watch Ashley excel in a role (Savannah Monroe) that portrays exceptional strength of character. Hers is a role model that I wouldn't mind my own children to follow. In Hellcats she's not only beautiful, but also lovable.
Some people say this show is predictable. That's understandable, because everything makes sense. The story is well constructed to give the audience a satisfying experience. And yet, the more I watched, the more I can't wait for the next episode!
Surrounding the attractive core characters, the cheerleading routines are a pleasure to watch, the music is interesting, and their unfolding life stories are mesmerizing - is Marti going to succeed in freeing the wrongly-imprisoned man? is Lewis going to help coach the "dirty football" team to championship? why is Savannah's mother so eager to sell her out and will Savannah's big-heartedness eventually win her over? So many things to look forward to, I hope this show goes on for a long long time!
