TV Ratings: CBS wins Friday, but The CW has a victory of its own

3 December 2011 9:55 AM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Fast National Ratings for Friday, Dec. 3, 2011

As usual, CBS emerged victorious from Friday's ratings race. With new episodes of "A Gifted Man," "CSI: NY" and "Blue Bloods," CBS handily beat the other networks. Interestingly, though, The CW got a major boost from its fall finale of "Supernatural," and the show actually beat NBC in the 9:00 hour. Unfortunately, "Nikita" didn't fare as well, tying its all-time series low.

CBS averaged 9.6 million viewers and a 6.1 rating/10 share in households. ABC was second with 4.7 million, 3.1/5, followed closely by Fox with 4.3 million and a 2.8/5. NBC came in fourth overall with 2.8 million, 1.9/3, and The CW trailed with 1.8 million, 1.1/2.

In the adults 18-49 demo, CBS again won with a 1.4, followed by Fox with 1.3, ABC with 1.2, NBC with a measly 0.7 and The CW just barely coming in fifth with a 0.6.

Friday hour by hour:

8 p.m.

CBS: "A Gifted Man" (9.7 million viewers, 6.3/10 households)

ABC: "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" (4.6 million, »

TV Ratings Report: Series Low for Nikita

3 December 2011 9:40 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Nikita did not say goodbye to 2011 on a positive note: The CW drama tied a series low for ratings, drawing only 1.7 million viewers. That's a six percent drop from the last new episode.

In other ratings news:

The death of Bobby on Supernatural helped that series go in the opposite direction, increasing 20 percent from its most recent installment and garnering 1.86 million total viewers. A Gifted Man drew 8 million. CSI: NY drew 9.7 million. Blue Bloods led overall on the evening with 11 million. »

TV Ratings: 'CSI: NY,' 'Blue Bloods' Slip; 'Supernatural' Steady

3 December 2011 9:12 AM, PST | The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News | See recent The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News news »

It was another down week in the ratings following Black Friday, even with football as one of the programming choices on broadcast. CBS continued its reign atop a sleepy Friday, up against Fox's telecast of the first Pac-12 championship game between the Oregon Ducks and the UCLA Bruins. (Ducks won the game handily.) Averaging a 1.4 rating in the key 18-49 demo during primetime, CBS' lineup slipped across the board from their last originals -- with Blue Bloods seeing the biggest drop. A Gifted Man (8 million total viewers, 1.2 rating in adults 18-49 demographic)

TV Ratings: CBS' 'Blue Bloods' leads Friday as 'Game of Your Life' makes NBC miss 'Chuck'

3 December 2011 9:00 AM, PST | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Fast National ratings for Friday, December 2, 2011.   CBS got sluggish performances from all of its Friday procedurals, but "A Gifted Man," "CSI: NY" and "Blue Bloods" all still dominated their hours overall and helped to eke out a win among young viewers.   Meanwhile, NBC got dismal returns for the telefilm "Game of Your Life," which delivered CW-style ratings, while a dismally uncompetitive match-up doomed Fox's Pac-12 Championship to low numbers (though obviously the West Coast nature of the game meant that it largely aired outside of primetime in its target markets).   For the night, CBS averaged a »

Ratings: Nikita Fall Finale Ties Series Low

3 December 2011 8:52 AM, PST | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

Nikita with its fall finale fell a tenth in the demo to match what appears to be a series low rating of 0.5 this Friday.

In total viewers, The CW’s sophomore spy drama drew 1.7 million, down 6 percent from its last fresh outing. (For comparison’s sake, Smallville‘s final fall finale drew 2.45 million viewers and a 1.1 rating.)

Lead-out Supernatural, meanwhile, rebounded a bit from its brutal dance with the Jersey Devil to surge 20 percent in audience (to 1.86 million total viewers) while holding steady at a 0.7 demo rating.

Blue Bloods Review: The Reagan Boys Under Fire

2 December 2011 10:42 PM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

No one in the Reagan family was safe this week. Blue Bloods had Jamie "Moonlighting" as a stock trader, Danny chauffeuring an imprisoned mobster and Erin courting an art thief. In the end, none of the Reagan kids had a very good day.

Danny called it. He knew from the start that taking a convicted killer on a joy ride was a risky situation. As he said, the man was planning on spending the rest of his life in prison and had nothing to lose. So why not try a jail break?

What I didn't expect was the massive shootout that followed. How did the Albanians know that they wouldn't shoot the man they were suppose to set free?

I certainly enjoyed the ride along with Tommy Barone Sr. He's an entertaining guy... for a multiple murderer that is. But he definitely earned those two punches Danny gave him. At »

Fast National ratings for Friday, Nov. 25, 2011

It was a night of reruns, holiday specials and movies - so who came out on top? CBS did, as usual, but by a much slimmer margin than the Eye normally wins. A "Blue Bloods" rerun was the overall ratings winner for the night.

CBS averaged 5.3 million viewers and a 3.3 rating/6 share in households. ABC was second with 4.5 million, 2.7/5, NBC was third with 3.979 million, 2.5/4 and Fox was barely fourth with 3.977 million and a 2.4/4. The CW trailed with 1.5 million, 0.9/2.

In the adults 18-49 demo, it was almost exactly reversed. Fox won with a 1.2, followed by ABC with a 1.1, and then CBS and NBC at 1.0. The CW was fifth with a 0.4.

Friday hour by hour:

8 p.m.

ABC: "Shrek the Third" (4.08 million, 2.4/4)

NBC: "National Treasure: Book of Secrets" (4.05 million, 2.6/5)
