"Fringe" The Man from the Other Side (TV Episode 2010) Poster

(TV Series)

In this episode, one pivotal character is named "Verona" and another character takes a drug that makes him appear to be dead but which really only knocks him out for awhile. Both of these are references to William Shakespeare's play "Romeo and Juliet": the play takes place in Verona, and Juliet takes an apothecary's drug that makes her only appear to be dead.
Peter mentions that Walter wants to go to a "Star Trek" convention. Frequent Fringe (2008) guest star Leonard Nimoy played Mr. Spock in Star Trek (1966) and several of its movie spin-offs, including Star Trek (2009), which was created by the same behind-the-scenes team as "Fringe."
During the bridge scene, a second FBI vehicle arrives, with a camera emphasis on the license plate, "1 C3P0 1", an apparent reference to Star Wars.
Also in the bridge scene, the FBI vehicle carrying Olivia, Peter and Walter has the license plate number "1 R2D2 1"
Olivia often drives a SUV with 1C3PO1 registration plate, but sometimes she drives a black SUV with 1R2D21 registration plate.
