The theme of facing your fears is a nice one, but I think that the decision to have most of the plots be more comical and silly, heavily contrasted with the more interpersonal conflicts of other scenes. Though I do prefer the more comedically focused scenes, having a combination of both would've softened the tonal whiplash. The episode spends 1/3 of it's runtime setting up the various plots, and, even after that, introduces more side plots and pointless events. Ty Burrell and Sofia Vergara are great, as always. There's also the usual amount of cute baby scenes with Lily that elevates it. 7/10.
