Did You Know?

The episode is loosely based on the case of Yaser Said, who in that case, murdered his two daughters in Dallas in 2008, claiming it as an honor killing before fleeing into hiding, because he discovered his daughters were dating non-Muslim boys and he felt they were disgracing their religious beliefs as a result of being corrupted by American values in his eyes. Yaser Said is currently on the FBI's Most Wanted List. See more »

Salumeh Farooq douses her husband and the floor around him with gasoline. She drops in a lit match into the gasoline and berates her husband for several seconds. Then, the gasoline ignites. However, the gas fumes should have ignited instantly. After several seconds, the pure liquid gas would have smothered the flame of the match. See more »

Family Values
21 April 2011 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This episode mainly deals with timely topic of Islamic beliefs, and what happens to an Americanized Arabic family who don't see the "old ways" as the best for everyone. We aren't into politics, here, on this crime story but relationships such as pre-arranged marriages. The conflict between old and new regarding a love situation leads to a violent death.

Since one of the guys involved, "Brian," is a good army buddy of Kyle's we get Horatio's son involved in here, but he's more of an onlooker for awhile until becoming a participant in one facet. The ending has a touching moment with "H" and Kyle.

The actors here and good realistic as Iranians.
