Some time after being shot on duty, Deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes awakens in hospital to find it deserted with bodies strewn everywhere. He returns to his home to find it abandoned but believes his wife and son may still be alive. He meets Morgan Jones and his son Duane who explain to him that the world has been overrun with zombies (aka walkers). The disease usually started with an infection and high fever followed by re-animation. The creatures are attracted to sound and eat flesh to survive. Morgan tells him that he thinks there is a refugee center in Atlanta and Rick sets off in the hope of finding his wife and child. Once there, he finds himself surrounded by the undead with little apparent hope of escaping.....until he hears a voice over the radio. Written by

When Rick is backing up the Truck at the construction site he turns his body backwards in order to see where he's backing up the truck, but the camera immediately cuts to the back of the truck showing that the tail gate is down, meaning Rick was looking at an empty truck body. See more »

Well Us Zombie fans have been waiting on a TV series like this for some time. And they did it right. I loved every min of this show. I will be watching every episode. If you are a fan of the Zombie Movies you will love this show. Here is a bit about the show and what you can expect to see. (Thanks to Wiki for providing the update) The Walking Dead is centered on Rick Grimes, a small-town police officer from Cynthiana, Kentucky, his family, and a number of other survivors who have banded together in order to survive after the world is overrun with zombies. As the series progresses, the characters become more developed, and their personalities shift under the stress of a zombie apocalypse, most notably Rick's.
In the beginning of the series, Rick and partner Shane are in a firefight and Rick is shot and enters a coma. Upon waking in a hospital, he discovers the undead are in the building and town. Rick returns home and shortly decides to go to Atlanta, where the survivors were told to await help, to find his wife Lori and son Carl. He discovers the city is crowded with zombies and bumps into Glenn, a scavenger for a band of survivors. Following Glenn, Rick discovers Lori and Carl are okay along with Shane, who is less than happy that his former partner has returned. He also meets new survivors.
The group searches for a place to call home, settling in a couple of temporary camps, including a prison, which comes to the attention of an insane man calling himself the Governor. The Governor runs his local city, Woodbury, Georgia, like a dictator and tortures Rick (including cutting off one of his hands) and other members of his group, culminating in an all-out assault on the prison. Several of the main characters die in the battle, including the Governor himself. After the prison is made unsecured by the attack, Rick and the surviving members, after leaving with others to Washington, D.C. for a chance to cure the infection, encounter cannibals (which are brutally taken care of). Their current residence is a township that is enclosed in the outskirts of Washington D.C. until its safety is compromised by gunshots that attract a horde of zombies.
