But what do I know, eh?

After last night's brutal 150-minute marathon, tonight's X Factor will be just a sprightly hour long. How they'll manage to fit a Matt Cardle performance,

X Factor’s Joe McElderry doesn’t blame Simon Cowell for his failure

Joe McElderry has claimed that he doesn’t hold a grudge against his former boss Simon Cowell.

The music mogul signed him to his Syco record label, after the Geordie singer won The X Factor in 2009. However, after disappointing sales of his debut album ‘Wide Awake’, Joe was dropped earlier this year.

Despite the cruel axing, McElderry claimed that he doesn’t blame Cowell for his downfall, telling The Daily Mail that he was not responsible foe his career once he left the ITV show. Joe explained:

“Everyone kept coming up to me and saying in a sad voice, ‘How are you?’ But what’s the point of being bitter? Simon gets a lot of criticism, yet he’s not responsible for you once you leave the show. He gives you the platform, then it’s up to you. Simon gave me great opportunities. Why would I be upset with him?

Cheryl is of course competing against Joe McElderry to be crowned this year’s winner, but her fear was prompted when last week, during a duet with Joe, she forgot the words.

Cheryl told The Sun’s TV Biz, “In last week’s duet, I had to come in first but the audience were chatting so loudly I couldn’t hear.

“So I came in with the wrong words and an octave out. I ended up making up loads of words in Cherylese and I was just singing random sounds that meant nothing.

“Then I was lip-reading off Joe, who saved me.”
