Chris Traeger's (Rob Lowe) math is faulty, possibly further justifying his necessary partnership with Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott). He says he's run 10 miles a day every day for 18 years, which is 65,000 miles, 'a third of the way to the moon.' On one hand, 10 miles a day for 18 years would be closer to 65,700 miles, so he's selling himself short. On the other hand, the moon is 238,900 miles from Earth. One-third that distance is 79,633 miles. At his current pace he has about three years and 10 months before he can honestly claim to have run a third of the way to the moon. It will be another 43 years and eight months past that before he reaches his goal.
