Fantasia Homeless?

Fantasia Homeless?
While Fantasia is on pace to land her third top 10 album,"Side Effects Of You," this week, the “American Idol” winner is also in the process of losing the ongoing battle to keep her North Carolina mansion.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Barrino has avoided the foreclosure process and transferred the deed to the bank in February, leaving her with zero profit from the 6,500-square-foot home which was reportedly purchased in 2007 for $1.3 million.

The singer’s foreclosure woes dates back to 2008, where she was accused of defaulting on a $58,000 loan from Florida-based company, Broward Energy Management. All of which led Barrino to put the house on the market last April for $800,000.

While promoting her VH1 reality series, "Fantasia For Real," in 2010 the North Carolina-native addressed foreclosure rumors with CNN and dismissed that “Idol” creator, Simon Cowell, assisted in bailing her out.

“The show will set the record straight.

'RuPaul's Drag Race': A super-sad elimination. Plus, A Poll: Which queen should return next week?
The constant bitchiness of drag queens never ceases to amaze me. It was but a few minutes into last night’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race that found the increasingly nasty Manila Luzon sniping about last week’s sashayer Carmen Carrera: “In the workroom today, there’s a huge, huge void,” Manila started, sounding like she was going to lament Carmen’s exit. But then she brought it home: “That used to be taken up by Carmen’s giant a–.” Zing! Yes, and we’re off at the Race.

Last night’s theme? Hair. “It just takes one bad blowout,

In the weeks surrounding her August suicide attempt, Fantasia Barrino has arguably went through the toughest time of her young life. On the second-season premiere of VH1's "Fantasia for Real," however, the former American Idol's fighting spirit is on full display as she preps for the release of her third album, Back to Me.

The episode kicks off with Fantasia celebrating her newly empty house in Charlotte, North Carolina, after her mother and brothers moved out. She tricked out the mansion with a new game room and a brightly colored playroom for her daughter, Zion. While the songstress appeared to revel in her drama-free domesticity, she did have an album to promote, so she jetted off to New York City to

Fantasia: Breakdown of a 'Strong Black Woman'

Fantasia: Breakdown of a 'Strong Black Woman'
Recently we learned that Fantasia, American Idol winner turned R&B star attempted to commit suicide by overdosing on aspirin and sleeping aids. In an explanation Fantasia stated, "I just wanted out. I was tired of people doing me wrong... I was tired. My head was hurting me. I was over it." Yes, on one hand it is a bit strange that Fantasia has been doing press to promote her new album "Back to Me" so soon after this serious event. But in "strong black woman" fashion, Fantasia marches on. And I for one, am glad she's chosen to be real about her struggle, cause a "strong black woman" has to be allowed to break down. Anyone who watched Fantasia's VH1 reality show, Fantasia For Real could see that honey child's life was a smoldering heap of nonsense! ...

Catapulted to superstar "American Idol" status in a few short months, then distracted by men, family trouble and alleged money problems ever since (culminating in an apparent suicide attempt Monday), Fantasia Barrino could easily be the subject of more than one "Behind the Music" episodes at the young age of 26.

Let's take a look at the highs and lows of Fantasia's career.

American Idol: Big Mike Back on Diaper Duty

Songs of the Cinema" week on American Idol has ended with Big Mike in the closing credits.

Tuesday's performances were filled with ups and downs, the ups mainly being the duet's. The pairing of Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox seemed like the Idol producer's were banking on them as the final two - with Big Mike being attached to Casey James's sinking ship. However, VotefortheWorst.com's new poster child survived the vote. Here's to you Mrs. Robinson/DioGuardi.

The Top 3 get to visit home next week, recieving a grand hero's welcome in return. The montage showed previous finalists Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, Bo Bice and Carrie Underwood being honored in their home town. It also featured Taylor Hicks being given the key to the city of Birmingham, Alabama which I'm sure they now regret. When the Soul Patrol ran out of steam I wonder how long it took him

Jonathan Bernstein's Aerial View of American TV

This month on Us TV, what happens to R&B singers once the hits start to dry up? And why are little people are suddenly big news?

Let's all pretend this is 2006 so we can retroactively enjoy my imaginary review of The Way It Is, a reality show about the highs and lows of then-rising R&B starlet Keyshia Cole. After a hardscrabble adolescence, ping-ponging from orphanage to foster care, she's finally making an attempt to reconnect with her dysfunctional family. Showing the patience of a tattooed saint, Ms Cole moves her toothless crack-whore mother and alcoholic, bipolar sister into her roomy new home. Balancing a burgeoning recording career and a tumultuous personal life is a challenge, but at least Ms Cole will

VH1 is getting more real -- and shockingly unshocking -- with an across-the-board programming revamp that will include producing a record 44 original series this year, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Eschewing Flavor of Love and its ilk for more "authenticity" in its upcoming new reality, VH1 will bring viewers dozens of new shows such as You're Cut Off, which aims to reform spoiled party girls, and Money Hungry, in which contestants can lose up to $10,000 of their own cash if they don't cut calories. A whopping 40 percent of programming will return to the network's original focus, music, starting with brand
