While Fantasia is on pace to land her third top 10 album,"Side Effects Of You," this week, the “American Idol” winner is also in the process of losing the ongoing battle to keep her North Carolina mansion.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Barrino has avoided the foreclosure process and transferred the deed to the bank in February, leaving her with zero profit from the 6,500-square-foot home which was reportedly purchased in 2007 for $1.3 million.
The singer’s foreclosure woes dates back to 2008, where she was accused of defaulting on a $58,000 loan from Florida-based company, Broward Energy Management. All of which led Barrino to put the house on the market last April for $800,000.
While promoting her VH1 reality series, "Fantasia For Real," in 2010 the North Carolina-native addressed foreclosure rumors with CNN and dismissed that “Idol” creator, Simon Cowell, assisted in bailing her out.
“The show will set the record straight.

The constant bitchiness of drag queens never ceases to amaze me. It was but a few minutes into last night’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race that found the increasingly nasty Manila Luzon sniping about last week’s sashayer Carmen Carrera: “In the workroom today, there’s a huge, huge void,” Manila started, sounding like she was going to lament Carmen’s exit. But then she brought it home: “That used to be taken up by Carmen’s giant a–.” Zing! Yes, and we’re off at the Race.

In the weeks surrounding her August suicide attempt, Fantasia Barrino has arguably went through the toughest time of her young life. On the second-season premiere of VH1's "Fantasia for Real," however, the former American Idol's fighting spirit is on full display as she preps for the release of her third album, Back to Me.
The episode kicks off with Fantasia celebrating her newly empty house in Charlotte, North Carolina, after her mother and brothers moved out. She tricked out the mansion with a new game room and a brightly colored playroom for her daughter, Zion. While the songstress appeared to revel in her drama-free domesticity, she did have an album to promote, so she jetted off to New York City to...

Season 2 of Fantasia For Real premieres this Friday, September 19 at 10/9 C, and the singer was sweet enough to stop by our offices and chat about her outfit, fashion philosophy and style. Fantasia’s (who has spoken openly about her suicide attempt) had a summer of ups, downs and rebounds and yet through it all she’s stayed cool, confident and stylish, obviously. Tasia showed up to VH1 headquarters in a sexy, casual Rachel Roy romper, sky-high Christian Siriano heels that hurt just to look at and a bevy of her own bling. Check out her outfit breakdown in our video below; peep up close pics of her pieces - and looks for less - in our gallery below. [Photos: Jennifer Marigliano/VH1]...

Recently we learned that Fantasia, American Idol winner turned R&B star attempted to commit suicide by overdosing on aspirin and sleeping aids. In an explanation Fantasia stated, "I just wanted out. I was tired of people doing me wrong... I was tired. My head was hurting me. I was over it." Yes, on one hand it is a bit strange that Fantasia has been doing press to promote her new album "Back to Me" so soon after this serious event. But in "strong black woman" fashion, Fantasia marches on. And I for one, am glad she's chosen to be real about her struggle, cause a "strong black woman" has to be allowed to break down. Anyone who watched Fantasia's VH1 reality show, Fantasia For Real could see that honey child's life was a smoldering heap of nonsense! ...

Continuing to recover from her suicide attempt earlier in the week, Fantasia Barrino seems to be doing much better.
According to Radar Online, the “American Idol” alum was spotted with her married lover, Antwaun Cook, less than 24 hours after being released from a Charlotte, North Carolina hospital.
The two met up with each other at a secluded park near her waterfront property and word has it, VH1 cameraw were present and rolling for her upcoming reality show “Fantasia For Real.”
As previously reported, Fantasia attempted to overdose on aspirin after being accused of being a home wrecker in divorce documents by Cook’s ex-wife, Paula.

VH1, which airs Fantasia Barrino's reality series "Fantasia For Real," is reacting to the news that the former "American Idol" champ has been hospitalized for an overdose of "aspirin and a sleeping aid," according to her manager. "We support Fantasia 100 percent and look forward to working with her again soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with her at this difficult time," the network tells "The Insider." Meanwhile, Fantasia's manager tells the Associated Press that the star is in stable condition and is expected to be released from the hospital soon. He says she was "heartbroken" over a North Carolina woman's accusation that Barrino ruined her marriage -- a claim the 26-year-old singer has denied.

Songs of the Cinema" week on American Idol has ended with Big Mike in the closing credits.
Tuesday's performances were filled with ups and downs, the ups mainly being the duet's. The pairing of Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox seemed like the Idol producer's were banking on them as the final two - with Big Mike being attached to Casey James's sinking ship. However, VotefortheWorst.com's new poster child survived the vote. Here's to you Mrs. Robinson/DioGuardi.
The Top 3 get to visit home next week, recieving a grand hero's welcome in return. The montage showed previous finalists Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, Bo Bice and Carrie Underwood being honored in their home town. It also featured Taylor Hicks being given the key to the city of Birmingham, Alabama which I'm sure they now regret. When the Soul Patrol ran out of steam I wonder how long it took him...

"American Idol" champ Fantasia Barrino has beefed up security after receiving a hate letter containing racial slurs including the "N" word and telling her to "go back where you came from and die."
"I will not be defeated by one isolated person's hatred," the singer defiantly tells TMZ, who broke the story.
Barrino received the hate letter last night (Fri. Feb. 19) in her usual batch of fan mail after performing in the musical version of "The Color Purple" at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles.
It seems the racist who wrote the letter claims to have worked as a security guard at "Idol" when Fantasia was competing on the show. Scary!
According to Fantasia's manager, the Pantages has alerted the L.A. police department, beefed up her personal security and increased security at the venue. They'll also be screening her fan mail before it reaches the singer.
