Exclusive: Head To Toe With Fantasia

16 September 2010 9:10 AM, PDT | | See recent news »

Season 2 of Fantasia For Real premieres this Friday, September 19 at 10/9 C, and the singer was sweet enough to stop by our offices and chat about her outfit, fashion philosophy and style. Fantasia’s (who has spoken openly about her suicide attempt) had a summer of ups, downs and rebounds and yet through it all she’s stayed cool, confident and stylish, obviously. Tasia showed up to VH1 headquarters in a sexy, casual Rachel Roy romper, sky-high Christian Siriano heels that hurt just to look at and a bevy of her own bling. Check out her outfit breakdown in our video below; peep up close pics of her pieces  - and looks for less - in our gallery below. [Photos: Jennifer Marigliano/VH1] »

Fantasia back to reality show after overdose attempt

13 August 2010 2:43 PM, PDT | | See recent news » Despite dealing with rumors of breaking up a marriage, creating sex tapes and then attempting to overdose on pills, Fantasia Barrino won’t be stopped from shooting her reality show.

The ‘American Idol’ winner was spotted with her married boyfriend, Antwaun Cook, yesterday, but the meeting was all being shot by cameras, reports Hollyscoop. It is believed that this will be part of her reality show, Fantasia For Real, as those involved with the show previously revealed that the recent incidents would be included in the next season.

As a result of this recent filming, more suspicions are rising up that this may have been a publicity stunt as Fantasia has her second season premiering soon, along with a new album.

Jonathan Bernstein's Aerial View of American TV

1 May 2010 2:56 AM, PDT | The Guardian - TV News | See recent The Guardian - TV News news »

This month on Us TV, what happens to R&B singers once the hits start to dry up? And why are little people are suddenly big news?

Let's all pretend this is 2006 so we can retroactively enjoy my imaginary review of The Way It Is, a reality show about the highs and lows of then-rising R&B starlet Keyshia Cole. "Whether you automatically add her to your iTunes playlist or dismiss her as a Poundstretcher Mary J Blige, you can't deny Keyshia Cole's toughness or tenacity. After a hardscrabble adolescence, ping-ponging from orphanage to foster care, she's finally making an attempt to reconnect with her dysfunctional family. Showing the patience of a tattooed saint, Ms Cole moves her toothless crack-whore mother and alcoholic, bipolar sister into her roomy new home. Balancing a burgeoning recording career and a tumultuous personal life is a challenge, but at least Ms Cole will »

'American Idol' Fantasia Barrino on lockdown after racist hate mail

20 February 2010 1:22 PM, PST | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

"American Idol" champ Fantasia Barrino has beefed up security after receiving a hate letter containing racial slurs including the "N" word and telling her to "go back where you came from and die."

"I will not be defeated by one isolated person's hatred," the singer defiantly tells TMZ, who broke the story.

Barrino received the hate letter last night (Fri. Feb. 19) in her usual batch of fan mail after performing in the musical version of "The Color Purple" at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles.

It seems the racist who wrote the letter claims to have worked as a security guard at "Idol" when Fantasia was competing on the show. Scary!

According to Fantasia's manager, the Pantages has alerted the L.A. police department, beefed up her personal security and increased security at the venue. They'll also be screening her fan mail before it reaches the singer.
