Trivia

Elka was only going to be in the pilot, but the rising popularity of Betty White made the producers offer her a regular job.
When this show first began in early 2010, Wendie Malick, Valerie Bertinelli, and Jane Leeves were supposed to be playing characters in their late 40s. Malick was sixty in 2010.
The house is the same one which was featured on Sabrina, the Teenage Witch (1996).
Episodes were filmed before a studio audience on Stage 19 of CBS Studio Center in Studio City, California.
In the house, there are actual pictures of the actresses and their families.
Betty White's character Elka Ostrovsky was named after Howard Stern's wife Beth Ostrovsky.
This is Betty White's first long running series (after The Golden Girls (1985) and Mary Tyler Moore (1970)) not to win her an Emmy, although she did receive a nomination for the first season, and won back to back SAG awards.
