    Quite entertaining

I must admit I am not a big fan of modern horror movies as they tend to overdo the gory part nowadays. Therefor Herzibah was a pleasant surprise to me. It hardly brings any new aspects for a movie about a medieval which and her curse over the years, but it takes a refreshing look into the old genre and takes it into our century. One of the let downs is, that the production is mostly made for TV, so you see a lot of close ups and less of the impressive work of the art department. Lots of details, perfect atmosphere, but it could have been so much more spirit if it would have been made for the big screen. The actors are great, especially young Eleonor Tomlinson in the lead.

Its in depth with a little bit of debts paid of.

I saw the Movie and it touched me deeply - the "Horror" is subtle, the story creeps under your skin into your emotions. There is scarcely music, with the art of noises the director stayed true to the Genre - I had a blast with the Sound/Noise. That was really frightening. Great pictures. The young leading actress is brilliant, also the librarian. I like the location a lot, the movie takes place.

The scene at the end triggered goose pimples, when the pastor apologizes to all the women burned at the stake.

I recommend this movie, its in depth with a little bit of debts paid of.

solid Horror Movie with great Actors and Sound

Director Robert Sigl, director of the Fango Video release School'S Out and the upcoming The Spider, sent along some exclusive pics and news on Hepzibah, a horror film he's currently directing for German network ProSieben. The setting is "an ordinary town called Selmen which has become the bizarre scene of a most terrifying trend," Sigl tells Fango. "Seemingly happy girls are killing themselves on their 18th birthday," he continues. "The video diaries of the dead girls lead our heroine Kirsten toward a dark secret hidden in the ruins of a medieval village recently rebuilt and reopened as a museum. An ancient curse has again surfaced, along with a ghostly figure seeking vengeance. Only three days remain for Kirsten to unravel the mystery before she herself turns 18, or she will become the next victim." Although made for German television, the film is being shot in English with leads Eleanor Tomlinson »

    Uncanny, absorbing, hypnotizing

Impressively directed and acted, with its astounding cinematography and production design work, memorable performances, an astonishing soundtrack and a nightmarish, absorbing atmosphere filled with really unique and original images not seen before, this uncanny witch tale succeeds in hypnotizing the viewer from start to finish. There are a number of stunning moments that convincingly demonstrate how thin the line between fairytale and horror actually is. Beautiful Eleanor Tomlinson, now deservedly on her way to big stardom, pulls us right into the story and her haunted mind. I was lucky enough to see the uncut, original English version during the American Film Market under its altered title THE VILLAGE and hope the movie will be finally released on DVD.
