The X Factor: Simon Cowell Reveals Truth Behind End of Fox Series

7 June 2016 11:29 PM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

Simon Cowell is back on television in the Us with the latest season of America’s Got Talent on the air, and he is now revealing why his last Us project, The X Factor USA, went off the air three years ago.

According to Digital Spy, Cowell revealed that Fox did not cancel the reality competition series. The network wanted a fourth season. In fact, it was his decision to pull the plug on the series.

He said the following in a recent interview:

“The interesting thing is everybody thinks X Factor was cancelled - that wasn't the case. What happened was that after three years, I said, 'I can't do this any more' - it was just too many shows. Fox offered us another season, but I couldn't do it, so that's why we stopped the production, because I couldn't »

Simon Cowell on Taking a Break After X Factor USA: 'If There's Too Much Pressure, It's Not Fun Anymore'

3 June 2016 11:15 AM, PDT | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

He has been off American TV since the end of The X Factor USA in 2013. But as he returns to the airwaves on NBC's America's Got Talent, Simon Cowell admits it was a much-needed break. The music mogul responsible for breaking chart-topping acts including One Direction and Fifth Harmony, tells People: "It wasn't like a major thing, but you get to a point where if you're too tired and there's too much pressure, it's not fun anymore and I just thought I can relieve the pressure for a couple of years, which was a good thing." Louis, Nicole and Sharon – has Simon found X Factor’s ‘greatest hits’?

2 June 2016 11:00 PM, PDT | The Guardian - TV News | See recent The Guardian - TV News news »

The music mogul has raided the show’s back catalogue in a change to the judging panel that doesn’t sound at all like he’s trying to save a sinking ship

“I never thought I’d be saying this, but we’re going to bring back Louis Walsh.” Simon Cowell, there, admitting he made a mistake in an X Factor judging shakeup. But those are not words from this week, when Walsh was announced as 25% of the 2016 X Factor judging lineup. Instead, Cowell was speaking in 2007.

Nearly a decade ago, Walsh’s return felt dramatic, and as genuinely surprising as the return, several years later, of his own hairline. Fast-forward to 2016, and Walsh’s reappointment feels like Cowell appearing on the deck of a beleaguered sea vessel and announcing: “I never thought I’d be saying this, but I think these deckchairs would look nicer further away from that iceberg. »

Did Sam Mendes Really Just Say He's Done With James Bond?

29 May 2016 9:55 AM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Sam Mendes has directed the last two James Bond films, Skyfall and Spectre, but is he ready to hang up his hat and move on to something else? He gave a speech this weekend that revealed all. Speaking at the Hay Festival Mendes indeed confirmed - he's done with Bond. But don't worry, he basically said it will all be Ok. The Telegraph reports him saying: “It’s not a negative. I’m a storyteller and at the end of the day I want to make stories with new characters. I also believe there are directors out there who can do the job every bit as well as me. And like me with Skyfall, it should come from a slightly unexpected direction. It was an incredible adventure, I loved every second of it. It was a privilege, all the experiences were gobsmacking for me, but I think it’s time »

“BBC faces charter ban on Saturday Strictly”, splashed the Mail on Sunday, with similar front pages in the Sunday Times and Telegraph. The Tory press was briefed that the BBC charter would bar the corporation from competing with ITV and others in primetime. No Strictly up against X Factor, no Night Manager up against ITV Sunday drama. Forget the elixir of competition: the BBC must back down.
