Stunt Coordinator Steve M. Davison takes us through the action set pieces of A Good Day to Die Hard, on Blu-ray and DVD June 4
For the past 33 years, Steve M. Davison has served as a stunt performer and stunt coordinator on blockbusters such as Scarface, Beverly Hills Cop, Desperado, Lethal Weapon 4, Bad Boys II, and over 150 more movies and TV shows in between. His latest is A Good Day to Die Hard, debuting on Blu-ray and DVD June 4. Director John Moore's sequel delivers some of the biggest action set pieces in the whole franchise, and Steve M. Davison was there every step of the way. I recently had the chance to speak with this stunt coordinator over the phone to discuss his involvement in this action-packed sequel. Here's what he had to say.
First off, I was curious how you came into the stunt world, and how that »

• Matthew McConaughey may have been offered the lead in Christopher Nolan’s next film, Interstellar. As with any Nolan project, details are being kept tightly under wraps, but this project has been floating around for years. The story is based on the works of theoretical physicist Kip Thorne, who posited, among other things, that wormholes can be used for time travel. Nolan’s brother Jonathan (The Dark Knight, The Prestige) wrote the script, and they’ve already set a release date for November 7, 2014. As for McConaughey, if the reports are accurate, it seems like it would be a no-brainer. [Deadline]

A Good Day to Die Hard follows other franchises in having that pass-the-torch installment, where the aging star fights the bad guys with his son.
Bruce Willis (Looper) is back as bad-ass NYPD cop John McClane, and when his estranged son Jack gets into trouble in Russia, it’s John to the rescue. Jack (Jai Courtney, Jack Reacher), a CIA operative, has been imprisoned in Moscow, and after father and son reunite, they must thwart a nuclear weapons heist that could trigger World War III.
The movie was panned by critics, with Richard Roeper summing it up succintly with, “What a disappointment.” One of the few positive reviews still wasn’t all that praising. Dallas Morning News critic Chris Vognar said, “It’s all more than a little silly, but »

The cast and producers of "Community" gathered for the fourth year in a row at Paleyfest to share insight into what began as a tumultuous Season 4, and the unsure future that is Season 5. Here are the highlights:
History 101
The panel starts with a table read, wherein the cast -- including Fred Willard as Alter-Pierce -- reenacts Season 4's premiere episode, "History 101."
The highlight was an epic tango between Joel McHale and Jim Rash, that exposed "so much butt crack" to the Yvette Nicole Brown and the rest of the cast still situated behind the table. Stay tuned for Hulu to post video from the panel. Zap2it will embed it here once it's live.
The Elephant in the Room
The cast deflected and producers hedged any time they were asked about the departure of Chevy Chase. But Executive Producer and Director Tristram Shapeero was willing to respond when it came »

“October 19th” has finally arrived. After the ouster of creator Dan Harmon, the hiring of new showrunners, a 16-week delay, a change in scheduling from Friday back to home on Thursday, and news of a star’s departure, Community returns for its fourth (and possibly-but-also-maybe-not-final) season tonight at 8 p.m. on NBC. As you can imagine, the new guys in charge, executive producers Moses Port and David Guarascio (Aliens in America, Just Shoot Me), are a wee bit antsy to finally kick off the year after this extended hiatus. “Given all the change with the show, meaning us coming aboard, »

A Good Day to Die Hard seems to be a glorified commercial for Mercedes-Benz. First we got a featurette showcasing their vehicles as used in the film. Now, the first clip has arrived with quick snippets of classic John McClane dialogue interspersed with footage of the Mercedes-Benz Unimog wrecking havoc across Moscow. It plays like a first quarter Superbowl ad. Watch as Bruce Willis returns to this classic action franchise by punching a Russian civilian in the face, running over the top of a woman's car on the highway, and causing plenty of vehicular smash 'em ups. It's a lot of branded fun. So far, A Good Day to Die Hard feels like the best straight-to-dvd action movie that the WWE never made. Which isn't such a bad thing.

As a producer and supervising producer, he’s been involved on all of The Walking Dead Season 2 and 3 episodes.

Now that 2012 is behind us, it’s time to look forward to what 2013 has to offer.
Specifically, what TV should we check out this year? When taking into account new and returning shows, there’s a lot to choose from — and it’s a little overwhelming.
After careful consideration, I’ve chosen 13 series, new and old, that I can’t wait to check out. Take a look below that the top 13 most anticipated TV series of 2013, and let me know what you think!
13. Showtime’s Masters of Sex (Premiere: Tbd)
Although Masters of Sex doesn’t have a premiere date, I’m eagerly awaiting this series. Masters of Sex is one of Showtime’s first new original programs since the network swept at the Emmys with Homeland, so it has a lot to prove to see if it can hold on to its critical acclaim. »
