Storyline

In 1949, during dangerous times in post-war Denmark, Bjarne Madsen, an idealist young journalist of the "Social-Democraten", is determined to unmask the organised crime, the underground black markets and the corruption which plague the city of Copenhagen. When by chance, Bjarne accidentally discovers two faceless bodies that were bound together and washed ashore, it will be evident enough that the Police is clearly attempting to conceal the evidence. Unfortunately, Bjarne's findings will not be enough for his editor-in-chief Peder Taulov and the esteemed crime reporter H.C. Vissing, who will both reject this as a feeble case which is based on speculation. Nevertheless, Bjarne, resolute and against all odds, he will persist on his investigation, despite the fact that corruption has already spread its tentacles across Copenhagen.
