Hollywood Beat's first guest, actor Claude Akins, made one of his last public appearances on the show before he passed away.
The show's theme music is written and performed by platinum-award winning artist Delphine, who first gained recognition with her work on the top Grammy-award winning album 'Dreaming of You' by Selena. The record-breaking album achieved the second highest debut on the pop charts after Michael Jackson's HIStory.
Host/producer Larry Leverett, first met (guest) Robert Wise back in Chicago in the early nineteen-sixties when Leverett was hired to do some PR for Wise's film The Haunting (1963). Later, after Leverett moved to Hollywood he again worked for Wise, this time on the film The Sand Pebbles (1966), which starred Steve McQueen. Ironically, McQueen's son actor/director Chad McQueen wound up as a guest on Hollywood Beat as well.
