The story of the famous and influential 1960s rock band and its lead singer and composer, Jim Morrison, from his days as a UCLA film student in Los Angeles, to his untimely death in Paris, France at age 27 in 1971.
Buddy (22) is a young man, very good-looking, brilliant and self-centered like many others who move to Los Angeles looking for their chance to become popular. He starts to play in a Club, but he finds his public only in young girls fascinated more with his appearance than his real talent. Buddy doesn't care about girls until one day he meets a young girl called Peggy Sue (25), beautiful in her simplicity, and he falls in love with her at first sight. One day his big chance seems to arrive. A band called 'The Heartbeats' are looking for a singer. Buddy decides to go to the audition, he feels that he cannot fail, especially because he has a premonition. The day arrives and Buddy performs in front of the Band at Capitol record.. Written by
"Just excellent, excellent, excellent. This was a case of wonderful direction by this young director and I know there's a burning-bright star in Guy Kent's future. Stellar performance. Bravissimo.
The storyline itself was interesting and innovative and I enjoyed seeing Buddy in a whole new light. I should also mention that the rest of the cast was very dependable and an interesting bunch of characters that gave a good backdrop to the more serious Holly. I hope others get to see this, and I look forward to seeing what's next for this bunch.
And lastly, it's good to see an old-fashioned Hollywood story shot IN Hollywood."
