On the run in Wales
28 March 2010 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

After witnessing a murder last week Carl and Chesney are on the run; seeking somewhere to sleep for the night they find themselves in trouble when they try to break into a barn which turns out to be full of Cannabis plants. The owner of the barn appears behind them brandishing a shotgun and in the scuffle that ensures it goes off requiring Carl to dig a grave... it turns out it is for a dog. In the morning when cannabis farmer is no longer under the effects of her crop she is far more friendly. While the two boys are on the run their friends and families are worried about them, this worry grows when they are named as chief suspects in the murder. In another story line there is a competition to make the best film about the estate; Micky Maguire's decision to make a film based on "Taxi Driver" was hilarious, especially the way he achieved the correct hair style, while Liam and Libby seek to make a film that will expose the true murderer. There is also a nice little sub plot about Mimi getting joining the WI, the other members seem to think she is a bit below them but she gets them back in hilarious fashion.

This was another was another great episode in what is turning out to be a classic series. It was nice to see a couple of characters get off the estate for a bit. Niky Wardley was great as Welsh farmer Hazel; I can see why Chesney fancied her. Once again Ciaran Griffiths did well as Micky, he is a great comic character and he does it without it looking like he is trying to be funny.
