A Very Funny and Personal Documentary!
EONorton29 August 2010
I just saw a screening of this documentary last night! The filmmaker tells a personal tale of her quest to reconnect with her 3rd grade crush, and she takes the viewer along with her all the way! From the beginning it feels like we are sitting in her living room with her, experiencing the highs and lows as she experiences them. This is a very funny documentary at times, but not in the current doc style where the humor is at someone else's expense. The filmmaker bravely shows us her vulnerability one moment, then breaks into hilarious song in another. I found myself humming the theme song all day today! Ms. Keating Rogers produces, stars, directs, edits, shoots, composes, sings, etc. It's really quite an undertaking, but because it is her personal story it seems natural. I took my teenager, who is not normally that interested in documentaries, and we were both on the edge of our seats! I really hope it gets out there for more people to see, I think they would enjoy it!
