The best one yet

It's the best episode so far, very heartfelt and emotional. Everyone did an amazing job, especially Lindsey Morgan. Very sad she'll be leaving the show soon but hoping she'll be back.

Getting better every week
moviegeek_ny5 November 2021
I have been saying this more or less every week since the pilot but it's true, this show just keeps getting better with every episode, and it already started out pretty strong. This season is clearly more action-filled than the last one, which I personally appreciate, but they still manage to pack so much emotion and complex interpersonal relationships into every episode as well, I'm so very impressed with how they are navigating the different strands and making sure that all the characters get attention. This episode put the focus on Micki and her past, something that was already set up all the way back in S1E3, and also added additional layers to the relationship between her and Walker. Well done.

Warning: Spoilers
The season premiere was already amazing but this episode was so insane. I love how the fit all the SL together. Cordell and James are so fun to watch. Micki was incredible, I'm really gonna missa her character on the show. Jared and Lindsey did an amazing job. They have an amazing chemistry and the last scene was so emotional. I can't wait for more.

Tightly packed Episode Delivers

Warning: Spoilers
This episode moved forward one of the plot lines from the opener--Micki undercover and all the concerns that went with it.

Stellar performances from Lindsey Morgan, Jared Padalecki, and Coby Bell, making viewers love them all the more.

Keegan Allen and Amara Zaragoza came in seamlessly. (I'm enjoying both Liam's strong bond with his brother and the friction between him and his boss. Plus, I love the new DA--even if she seems set up to be a "frenemy" of the Walkers.)

In addition to the actors, the music choices were standouts. Every needle drop was solidly woven into the work as a whole.

Like all great soundtracks, it made you FEEL things as you watched.

Directing? Wonderful.

Richard Speight jr gave us great camera angles. Great choices of transitions.

Just like his episodes last year, Speight brought his A game.

And of course, kudos to the writers.

The script itself was well crafted, introducing us to an amazing character (and losing him) in an hour. Making us understand what the people we already knew were feeling and why.

In summary, "The One That Got Away" had all cylinders going and was a really strong team job.
