The main role of the film is played by Marta Palermo, a non professional actress of ten years old, blind since birth. She was the first one auditioned and she hardly accepted that the directors were going to meet other candidates before taking their decision. She loved the script very much and she wanted the role for herself. When Fabio Grassadonia and Antonio Piazza finally decided to give the role of Rita to Marta, they called her at the telephone saying "so... you will be Rita", and Marta immediately replied "you have not understood yes, I AM Rita already".

Simply one of the best!

This is possibly the best short film I have watched! The camera focusing on just the girl's face with a myriad of expressions was a genius. For the first half of the film, it is difficult to comprehend what's going on. I could not make sense of the singing, the hand, the conversation. After the girl is "released" from her bond, we really know what's the movie is about. Instantly, sympathies vanish and the audience hardens, and then again there is a reversal in the last scene. I could not remember a single moment when I did not feel I was not in the movie - it was totally absorbing. The slow deliberate actions heighten the tension, and the ending is really mind-blowing. Masterpiece!
